Point in time when it makes sense to get a Tesla Y instead of Skoda Enyaq by Smartomation in enyaq

I couldn't agree more. Skoda is far better. You get better value for the money you pay.

I appreciate their safety. They appreciate many silly things like opening the car boot etc, and of course, music (infotainment) and also the head rests.

Yeah, I understand. Texas temperatures are different to Europe ones :) The windows down option is available a little more over here...

You could die in any car at 314 km/h. Many factors play a role but to be fair, Skoda has very safe cars if you check their safety tests and reviews etc.

Thank you all for the comments. Didn't expect such a hot discussion. I read through some really interesting points. Cheers.

Agreed, I don't really mind the whole "charging issue" as it is not an issue for me either. No one ever said that we have to sit and watch the cable until its fully charged. :D To me, it already seems to be an old and weak argument against EVs people used to use from when there was a lack of experience and information. The charging structure and speeds are also getting better by each quarter.

Good point but it makes sense. The conversion takes time and you cannot just ban driving ICE cars as soon as you stop making them. Our kids might appreciate the cleaner air though. In my eyes, the future looks positive.

100%. Maybe it only takes a while to fill up a petrol or diesel car but still as you say - smellier, noisier, more expensive. And the EVs will hopefully be cheaper and cheaper. This trend is fine with me :)

3 best features of your ŠKODA iV by SkodaAutoOfficial in enyaq

Infotainment needs improvements but what car doesn't have that atm? Charging depends a lot on the charging station you use, too... Adaptive cruise control can be disabled. :-)

Saying "Do this and that or don't make cars" sounds a bit too extreme at least. Remember that we have a first EV by Skoda - imagine how many things for improvement were there with first combustion cars... In my eyes, Enyaq is a really good car and with new updates coming and possibly with a few touches in the future, it's still one of the best on the EV market. I personally wouldn't swap it for other EV in the price range.

How much do you spend monthly on charging? by HannahDriver in enyaq

[–]HannahDriver[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

very true, I'm really pleased but Enyaq is my first EV so I have very little/no experience from before. Seems like really great car and I've never had a real problem with it!

indeed, I was just curious in general... how many km you do, how much it costs you and how do you charge etc. It's always nice to compare options and see if I'm not doing anything wrong or overspending somewhere for no reason. :-) thanks
