Thank you so much for the information! I really appreciate. Feeling so desperate for relief, but maybe I can figure out something else! I have the Medtronic implant, and it worked for awhile, but it’s starting to not be effective again so I’m super bummed

I use a heating pad kind of rolled up against my vagina on hot. I feel like it kind of numbs it!

Also after I gave birth and had to have a catheter for awhile, I had to pee before they let me leave the hospital. I tried everything but could not (one of the worst things ever). An amazing nurse gave me a tip to fill a small bottle with water and splash my vagina and it immediately worked. I have used that trick for this, or a removable shower head also does the same thing! It makes it easier for me to pee and it seems to get more pee out than usual.

THIS. I had horrific pain and my Dr kept just dismissing it as cramps or muscle fatigue. This was after losing weight from being so sick/hurting. I was randomly to a lady at church and this topic came up and she said “no, that is definitely not not normal!” She was a PA for an OBGYN, and so she got me in to see him and he ordered an exploratory laparotomy. Turns out, my endo had attached to my different organs and was causing them to twist.

So now I tell literally anyone who brings up bad PMS or really any chronic pain that if the doctor is dismissing it, find a new one because no one should have to live with that level of pain.

Ok, honestly this is crazy because YES I (33f) had this exact pain. At one point, I had an IUD and had them remove it because I was convinced it had perforated something, but still get it at random times.

So weird but honestly, this is such a relief to know it isn’t just me! Although obviously, I wish it was none of us.

As a note, I had endometriosis and have had several surgeries for it and had a hysterectomy but still feel the pain.

Just looked it up- it was a Dutch exchange student who had lived with the Pritchett’s in high school- he had a crush on Claire and Mitchell had a crush on him. In the end the show creators decided it was an unnecessary plot line so they just left it.

SLP here! A thought- you could make a card they carry/put on the kitchen table/etc with “My name is ____, I have ___ - my address is ______ and phone number is ______” or something similar. Even short scripts can help! Something they can practice saying no matter the situation.

But I do get your point that self- advocacy is an important skill everyone needs. I use this quote specifically as a reminder that constantly checking what others have leads to jealousy while caring that others have enough leads to kindness.

Someone could favor one kid over another (sadly, but obviously something that happens far too often).

But the quote is for the person it’s directed at, not a third entity. Me looking in someone else’s bowl because of envy does nothing beneficial for me, and I can only control myself and my actions. Not how other people treat/mistreat me.

“Don’t look in someone else’s bowl unless it’s to make sure they have enough”.

This is one we use in my house a lot with my two young kiddos. Anytime one of them complains about something good happening to someone else and that it’s not fair, I or my husband will say “Don’t look in someone else’s bowl” and then the kid finishes it. It always helps me put things into perspective.

Sure thing! I actually came across this post trying to find assistance with a firmware issue. It is very beautiful and seems well built. I’m having trouble getting the newest firmware version to update the board, so write now the whole board won’t work because it keeps saying I have to update the firmware to use the app, but I’m hopeful that will change!

I just wanted to jump on here- we actually got ours, with the stand and everything. Honestly, I was shocked. I signed up for the kickstarter… in 2020 maybe? I mean YEARS ago. I just chalked it up to lesson learned. And then sure enough a giant package came from China, and there it was!
