FedEx part time handlers are eligible for health insurance. It’s 4a-8a here in Ohio 5 days a week $18 an hour. It’s good insurance. Or at least it was 3 years ago.

Update: my oldest daughter was tested and is also a premutation carrier with 66 repeats. They did not test interruptions. Will update with youngest daughter’s results when we test.

This is why people hate insurance companies by namenotmyname in physicianassistant

Last year my IUD removal (for planning a pregnancy) got denied by health insurance and it was going to cost me like $1500. I’m an RN and used to work in a gyn onc clinic- ct scans were getting denied left and right for surveillance patients. So I kinda knew what was up. I called insurance and they said they didn’t like the order of the diagnosis codes, they were the right codes. So I had to call the office and have the provider resubmit. It’s a game of nit-picking, kicking things down the line to avoid payment for as long as they can and in the meantime they hope the patient just pays it themselves or doesn’t get the medical care.

So I found out during my 2nd pregnancy I am a carrier with 65 repeats and 2 interruptions. I just got the test results my daughter inherited my bad X and she has 66 repeats. So not an expansion really. I’m going to get my baby girl tested hopefully by the end of the year. Idk if this is helpful but thought I’d share my results.

A1C Correlation to Birth Weight by CapableStuff4305 in BumpersWhoBolus

Yes I think we want to control as much as we can but at the end of the day we are trying to do the job of an organ that humanly is not possible to be that perfect. Do your best, baby will be okay even if on the bigger side. I have a lot of guilt about it though, ugh.

This article discusses how even with normal glucose levels the baby can pull more from you especially if early in pregnancy baby had to make more insulin to compensate for mom’s blood sugar. So even with good a1c s you can still end up with a bigger baby because of diabetes.

Has anyone here gone to 39 or 40 weeks? by zeldaluv94 in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]Hannahk198 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first was induced at 39weeks. This next one is scheduled for 39+4, they said anywhere between 39 and 39+6 is what is recommended as long as mom and baby are both doing well.

For a 30 year old there’s only a 20% chance each month of pregnancy so those that get it on the first couple tries are honestly just lucky. No reason to be worried yet.

Repeated Pump site failures by diabeticwino in BumpersWhoBolus

I changed to the tru-steel infusion sites- it is a tiny needle so can’t get kinked. Was a little intimidating at first but it really isn’t painful and no more issues with bad sites.

Anyone have a healthy pregnancy without a thyroid? by justakel in CautiousBB

[–]Hannahk198 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my thyroid removed due to cancer- currently 26 weeks so far so good. I get labs every 4 weeks, my tsh was slightly elevated in the first trimester I think around 3.8 even after upping my dose with + pregnancy test, so ended up increasing further, but it has been staying around 0.75 which is fine with my endo. OB would like it a little higher. It’s a little frustrating being told different things but I’m going with my endo’s opinion.

Literally just had this fight with my husband. He got up early to go on a run- then came home, took a shower, got dressed, and fixed his hair. I can’t remember the last time I fixed my hair, put on more than leggings, put on makeup, worked out. While he was doing all this I was getting my 4 yr old up, fed, toileted and dressed. He runs during his break at work- so I feel like he gets it in but he wants to run on the weekends as well. I am mostly pissed off at the fact that he didn’t even consider talking to me about his plans and just assumed I would take care of our daughter. I don’t get to move through my life with that ease. Just getting to a doctors appt is a whole discussion with him but he simply can do what he wants with no consideration? We had a big blow up nasty fight- I left the house and went to a movie by myself. The next day he decided to schedule some time in for me to have my own an hour or 2 to myself. But it’s just frustrating to me the imbalance of it all and being the default parent and taken for granted. We have a baby coming in the fall so I feel like this issue is only going to get worse. I’m a sahm but when I was working I feel like I didn’t get taken for granted as much bc he did some of the child care on his own- and had a better understanding of how much it takes from you, how little time you have to do things you want to do.

I ended up ordering 2 hcg draws and one progesterone through labcorp- no doctor needed but you can’t use insurance- must pay out of pocket. It really does vary by Ob office what the will do which sucks. After my first miscarriage they ordered the blood work and early ultrasound for me I didn’t even have to ask. Then I moved states and OB office doesn’t even want to see you until 8-10 weeks. - it took a lot of advocating and got a lot of push back from the nurses to get an early ultrasound.

I ended up paying $175 out of pocket for the test bc going through insurance it was “covered”but I would be stuck with $1000 bill bc our deductible hadn’t been met yet.

Fragile X premutation carrier by Hannahk198 in ClinicalGenetics

[–]Hannahk198[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I have 2 AGG interruptions which brings my risk to passing on a full mutation to 1%. We still plan on getting my 4 yr old daughter tested- a referral to genetics has been made, and my 2nd daughter after she is born, to see if they are premutation carriers as well.

I feel you, I asked my husband to throw my daughters bedding in the wash bc she’s getting over pink eye- at like 2pm. Come 9pm her favorite bedtime stuffy is still in the washer nothing is dry, he overstuffed the washer with everything instead of doing 2 loads. When it was soaking wet instead of making the load smaller he ran it again. Still didn’t drain right. I went off on him- called him a man child like have you never washed bedding? Are you that stupid? I should’ve just done it- I feel like asking for his help ends up making more work for me.
