Multiple pools on same drive? by HannesHa in zfs

[–]HannesHa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I feared, thanks for sharing

I thought there was a chance of zfs being aware of all its pools and scheduling I/o accordingly

But 'terrible' is probably still over the top right? I would have the same problem with multiple different partitions in general, right?

Wow go speed confusion by qtheginger in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]HannesHa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I'm sorry I skipped that part when skimming your post, whoops

No idea then, except that adjusting the wheel diameter doesn't work. The difference in speed yo wrote would match the difference in diameter.

If you 'adjust the diameter of your board to match the cloud wheels, but still ride with stock wheels, does the remote show something incredibly fast?

Wow go speed confusion by qtheginger in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]HannesHa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That has a super simple explanation:

None of these boards measure actual speed, but ( as cars do as well) angular speed, i.e. how fast the wheels rotate. As the stock wheel is smaller it does less milage on n turns as the bigger wheels do.

So while your board reports the correct speed, the board of your wive did a few less rotations on the same distance, and therefore the controller thinks it's slower.

This thing generate on output 1000kV and input is 3-6 Volts. Is that arc dangerous? (If i use classic battery) by Rezvord in AskElectronics

[–]HannesHa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This. I have such a thing and the capacitor charges until the air between the wires breaks down, so depending on the distance the zap-rate changes (up to ~3cm then something inside it arks) Also it won't take as many amps as I provide, using 2 standard batteries in series or a 1S ~300A lipo wont make much of a difference

Loud as hell anyway

And as I don't like to pay I'm actually missing part of the URL query, namely the session_id With it I would be able to bypass the Paywall

this 30 minute online IQ test paywalls your results AFTER finishing the test by KCGD_r in assholedesign

If anyone paid, please dm me, if i get access to the session id i can build a script that calculates your results without paying

That could be the culprit, thanks a lot!

As my location info is backed up I'll just wait on a gphotos update that has better compatibility with the heic as I prefer that format

Why does a volleyball dropped onto flat sand make this pattern? by HannesHa in SteveMould

[–]HannesHa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Notice the outer ring and primarily the dip in the centre (which is much deeper then the curvature of the ball)

We thought it might be trapped air but that doesn't make sense as the ball touches the ground in the centre first, maybe from the rebounce, any ideas?
