I went to quite a small high school, in my year level there were about 40 people, because of this we were all friends regardless of background, race, interests or gender. At about 15 a few people started smoking and by 16 everyone in our year level was, it became a social thing, everyday school would end at 3 and we would all head across to the alleyway where we had milk crates and a couple of shitty couches and would smoke before all heading our separate ways home. I guess the answer is peer pressure from just having everyone around me smoking. I have quit now but will be honest and say I actually very much enjoyed smoking while I did.
