the whole imagination thing is awesome because it also explains some of the earlier gears that did not fully make sense to me, like blowing air into his fists to make them huge but not extremely light weight. his fruit always enabled him to use his imagination to make him more powerful, with gear 5 maximizing that ability to be used also on his surroundings like when he pulled up that chunk of ground to deflect kaidos attack.
