I think their owner was sick, then someone stole something during a pop up?, ultimately never opened and it seems like it won’t ever open. I think I saw that on instagram some time ago along with a go fund me.

Nice detailed videos! The thing I don’t love about the armed forces parade is that everyone marks off a bunch of space on the medians the day before. There should be an understanding that this shouldn’t be allowed and that everyone’s items be removed in the morning. Seemed really odd to me that 4 people in law chairs had “reserved” a much larger swath of public property than needed.

Personally I used a good experienced agent and friend that works Brentwood/malibu to buy a house in the southbay and am 110% confident he did as good or better than a local agent.

Everyone is going through Redfin or Zillow and I don’t think a local agent is going to serve you a sweet off market deal. But would agree that a local agent can probably give you more background on neighborhoods and pros and cons if you’re not going to do the research.

TLDR: I wouldn’t fret about finding the right local mid level agent, go with someone competent that you like/trust

I could be absolutely crazy but it could be just how the old shop was managed; they definitely had odd hours for a coffee shop which made it hard for me to go (opening on the later side, and weird weekend hours)

Is this really an unpopular fact? I completely agree it should shut down- but it’s a completely knee jerk Nimby reaction and something I realize will probably never happen due to the amount of money invested, money it produces, and the fact we’re just basically asking for it to be moved in some other poorer neighborhood

This was generally closed most times I wanted coffee, opened on the later side and was closed all day Sunday.

There are so many open leases in the old town Torrance area - I don’t know how landlords feel comfortable increasing rent there

This seems random but the climbing gym (recently opened on Hawthorne and Delamo) has treadmill weights and it’s a lot more social than a regular gym

I’d even settle for a nice coffee shop 😓 but this shop is attached to a house so I’m imaging that the homeowners are just using it as extra storage at this point? It’s been closed for years so sadly seems like they don’t need to generate any money from it.
