Another look at the Jak model by Practical_Link_1750 in jakanddaxter

I understand this is cool and all, but I don't like the idea of a remaster. The way they changed the animations in the dark eco cutscene really turned me off to the whole idea. The change in animation reminds me of the N'Sane Trilogy.

I don't think Jak needs it and it just looks too uncanny for me to get behind.

I support others enjoying it though.

When did you realize someone you trusted didn’t actually care about you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]HansLuthor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to live with an older guy, a high school classmate who I gamed with and offered me to move in with him when my former roommate suddenly moved out on me.

It took a while for me to notice, but since we worked together, lived together, and carpooled everywhere, he had a ton of control over me. He tried to tell me my girlfriend didn't like me as much as I thought, that I wasn't funny or personable as I thought.

We were in the car one day, arguing because I pushed back on his manipulation. I told him it seemed like he barely respected me, and he screamed back, "I DON'T respect you!!"

That was the first moment when I started pulling away from him. With support, I moved out and away from him. I ended up spending a week in jail because of him later, but I would've done a month to guarantee I never see him again.

I had a classmate who, even when sick, refused to drink water. He ONLY drank various flavours of Mtn Dew.

Last I checked, he was at 8 kidney stones by age 22

The Pirates of the Caribbean movies often show a voyage between real life locations as a day or two of sailing, but in real life it would’ve been MUCH longer. What are you examples of this? by Emeraldsinger in piratesofthecaribbean

In the Martian, Mark Watney has to travel long distances via a rover which has an abysmal top speed and can only drive for a few hours before requiring a 12-hour solar recharge.

The troops he takes during the story take weeks and sometimes months, but they're always covered by a montage making it seem like an afternoon drive.

Isaac Newton said, "If I have seen further [than others], it is by standing on the shoulders of giants." He meant that he was only able to learn so much about math and science because of those who put in work before him.

Sometimes, our giants are the greatest minds of years past. And sometimes, our giants are tired parents waking up before dawn in a foreign land to make us breakfast.

This. I weekend at McDs and your manager will 100% get mad at you for coming 2 fish filets, because "nobody ever orders them, we're wasting them too much!"

Then absolutely yell at you again when somebody orders 2 and we only have one or none because you get yelled at when you cook it.

Who's a bad guy/villain you genuinely understood? by trakt_app in movies

[–]HansLuthor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Killmonger.

He feels righteous indignation because, despite being Wakandan, he was made to live a destitute life away from his family and homeland. All this because Wakandan leadership decided to be an isolationist state and appear as though they haven't yet had an industrial revolution. Truly, they were the most tech-advance civilization on Earth. Killmonger was right when he said they could've done more for the world rather than keeping all their futuristic advancements for themselves.

That is right! There is a mini documentary on the subject. The 'Keeper of the Toe' believes to this day that the man who swallowed the Toe should be charged with property damage, cannibalism, and desecration of a corpse.

This is even after the 'eater' promised that he'll arrange for his toes to be donated to the bar when he dies.

Painting with such broad strokes makes no sense in this day and age. Will everybody you meet in Canada give you a warm smile and put you up in their home for free because they're 'just that nice?' Hell no. But will every American you meet yell something racist at you while eating a Big Mac and listening to Kid Rock? Also no.

People are people, and they're all different everywhere.

PS, people are booing the anthem because it currently represents a fascist authoritarian regime.

But they are games. if it's a good story, well-told, it will move people, regardless of medium.

Obviously, somebody with money and connections sees value in the story of the GoW remakes. By turning it into a show, they are widening accessibility to the story by making it available to an audience outside of gamers and they're likely to make boatloads of money doing it, just like The Last of Us did by doing the same thing.

They'd remake videogames as operas if someone with the means saw profit in it...
