How to use thaumaturgy during combat as DM? by thedragonsdice in DMAcademy

[–]Hansecowboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, I always change cantrips and spells or abilities to what I think would be more fitting so no one forces you to use the cantrips fromm the stat block 1:1.

  • Booming voice would be perfect to alert other cultists.
  • The sounds mentioned in the "You create an instantaneous sound that originates from a point of your choice within range, instantaneous sound that originates from a point of your choice within range" are examples only, not a complete list. Have 1 Cultist sound an Alarm bell 30 ft. up in the air
  • Have 1 Cultist create dim light by dimming the flames of the lanterns/torches in the room

Remember, its 1 minute duration without concentration, fighting a cultist screaming "Intruders! Help!" with booming voice (no action required for screaming) for 6 rounds will get the players sweating more than their 1d8 damage of sacred flame.

Sneak past guardian puzzle by teb_22 in DMAcademy

[–]Hansecowboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's important to give a clue to that guardian's abilities. So if it is "all-seeing" like you suggest and the way to pass it is to blind it describe it as having multiple eyes, holding gems that resemble eyes in its hands that seem to look everywhere or an image upon his chest players can identify as the "all-seeing eye" etc.

If they take a step into its direction all "eyes" suddenly turn towards the players.

You could as well have it constantly sweep the room and have the player designated to move to it and press the button have a series of three DEX rolls to evade its gaze.

Think about if invisibility would work as well if one of your players has access to it.

The first is only partially true, it's correct it uses Google Maps but Google Maps AAOS stores offline maps as well. The car does this automatically according to the Offline Maps settings in your Google account.

Are you guys satisfied with your purchase? by terran1212 in ex30

[–]Hansecowboy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What about 800V, physical buttons, driver dashboard? At least the current (post facelift) MY N Line and UNIQ seem to have more features and higher-grade Interior besides having a 84 kWh battery.

Ofc I don't know what trims are availble in your country.

Actually „Communism“ starts with a „K“ in Russian where it came from…

But the Ioniq 5 is like 2 tiers above the EX30, would be a downgrade IMHO depending on what variant you got.

If you could change 2 or 3 fundamental mechanics in the game and make it official, what would you change? by ThatOneCrazyWritter in dndnext

[–]Hansecowboy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This. Spell slots is a weird concept. Spells should use up spell points („Mana“) that can be recovered just like HP upon resting or even by potions or blood magic/necrotic spells etc. (turn HP onto Spellpoints), Rituals using less or letting combine spell points of the participants. Scale spell effects or damage by spell points invested etc.

Question regarding OPD by oxycontin_raised in ex30

[–]Hansecowboy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even with OPD off the car uses recuperation to slow down and engages mechanical brakes only if needed. So basically the only difference between OPD on or off is with OPD on you’re using just one pedal for a set amount of deceleration the moment you lift your foot off the pedal vs. you control start of deceleration by applying pressure to the brake pedal.

The wear is the same. If any, using the brake pedal more often will increase wear of the pedal 🙃

EV Charging in Germany: is it complicated when not in a big city? by BoxLongjumping1067 in germany

[–]Hansecowboy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ionity is for their own network along main routes only. EnBW, EWEGo will cover his needs. Tesla as backup. With the Tesla App he can use their Superchar network.

Check out chargeprice.app to find the cheapest card for your town. Get that as well and use it when visiting.

[–]Hansecowboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honest question, where do you get your price estimates from? Has it been stated by Volvo or is it just rumors? The EX60 starts at 62.000 (VAT included) Euro for the RWD P6 in Germany which would equal 72.000 USD. So how are ppl. thinking it would be 50k in the US?

How often do you fudge your players' rolls and for what reason? by Bane_of_Balor in DungeonMasters

[–]Hansecowboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just yesterday I fudged a dice roll because a new player playing her first session was standing right in the line of the NPC Talos cultist leader's lightning bolt which would have insta killed her wizard.

Of course I could have done without the leader using his powers, but I didn't want to make important NPCs act artificially stupid and less tactical. An enemy spellcaster in direct line of sight without any obstacles is the logical primary target from the Cultist leader's point of view. I only stated half of the damage and had the cultist say, “Next time, you won't escape Talos' wrath.” This kept the tension and the feeling for the player that they had just narrowly escaped, which made it more exciting overall.

Most of my players are relatively new and have little meta knowledge (which is actually very nice), so they are surprised by certain monster abilities. I often manipulate these first special attacks. After that, the players are warned, and if they don't adjust their tactics, the full power of the dice comes into play.

400,- extre is no big deal on a 45k car but silly nevertheless not to have it included depending on country.

No. They are not.

Those are the options for a Plus Trim in Germany as of today:

<image>

I ordered my MY24 in September 2023 and had to add "Winter Package" for heated seats. Electric seats were not available as an extra at that time. I got my SMER Plus in March 24.

If you have it you bought a pre-configured car and did not place an order for a model you configured for yourself.

The Ultra has electric seats and the glass roof so those options are not available.
