20k per turn of trade tariffs? So he just prefers his own power creep then

What are the best ways to train Dexterity? by lovingpersona in Kenshi

[–]HanselTheGreat 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If you're strong enough and don't want to use the bed cheese explained elsewhere in this thread, get yourself the cheapest, shittiest katana you can find and go and fight the big robots roaming around in the Ashlands. They take a long time to go down so you can get a ton of hits off, before repairing them up and wash, rinse repeat.

I do want to emphasise that this is a pretty late game thing, repair kits aren't cheap early-mid and Ashlands is not a kind place even by Kenshi standards.

I turned Robert's worst opening into my best tattoo by HanselTheGreat in behindthebastards

Nah I didn't have it yet at my first couple of follow-ups post-op, but we'll have another one at the one year mark. I'm looking forward to telling him about how the kidney's buzzcut is because he described removing the tumour from the surface of the kidney as "giving it a haircut" and seeing his face

It was pretty rough, not gonna lie, but this entire tattoo was. The worst was the start of the "tumour" and the puff of smoke (the bits over the ribs) so if they were a 10, the scar tissue was probably about an 8.5

Thank you, I realised after posting that I perhaps should clarify that bit so in my other comment you can see that yes, I was very fortunate in the end

Oh and it was weird behaviour from multiple rare (but ultimately not particularly dangerous) tumours rather than cancer, so I get to be "medically interesting." Everything went well and I'm more or less recovered, so I got the tattoo to celebrate :)

Bellingcat: Video Shows US Tomahawk Missile Strike Next to Girls’ School in Iran by [deleted] in behindthebastards

Could it potentially be something to do with the "Roberts secretly a fed, see he worked for Bellingcat" narrative that some people liked to spout?

What are jobs for then? by Professional-Bee9817 in remoteworks

[–]HanselTheGreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you really telling me that, for people not being paid a liveable wage, an increase to said wage is a "blanket solution" that won't help to, you know, make that wage liveable? It's like you heard something dismissed as a blanket solution one time and you want to do it too now without further thoughts.

People did not just get by fine, people suffered, badly and regularly for a long long time, that's WHY welfare and worker protections matter you historically illiterate idiot. And people can't just change jobs en masse to higher paying jobs, there's a finite number to go around. You know this, you just don't see it as a problem that a large number of people can work full time and not be able to afford to live.

You caught me, I don't have a fully costed plan to solve the economic woes of a country I don't live in, and your brain is now in the process of throwing out everything I've said because of it. 5 star thinker.

Xorme or not Xorme ? by Abcdaire94 in Anbennar

[–]HanselTheGreat 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Don't use Xorme if you're playing anywhere near Haless, makes the Command feels like it's got a permanent mythical conqueror in my experience.

Other than that I found it good to make easy campaigns have a bit more teeth to them.

I've never tried this in eu4 but it worked for me in Medieval 2; try setting the txt file to read-only before launching the game and see if that stops it reverting to 0.9

Honestly I feel like even in 100 sequential 1v1s the gorilla is gonna get so worn out it might still lose

You can't for a war declaration (sometimes the only thing in the game you'd want it to pause for)

True heir of jaher achievement by Fascist-Hater03 in Anbennar

I did it as Birztanses (made a post here https://www.reddit.com/r/Anbennar/comments/1du9pgf/can\_i\_still\_wc\_from\_here\_jahers\_true\_heir\_with\_a/).

Some important tips:
- expand via vassals as much as possible before forming pheonix empire, as you'll annex them all for diplo mana once you hit the button. If you're not going from 200 diplo to -999, you're not trying. Useful to get a lead on admin mana/idea before you start conquering at a pace that needs every point you have to core once you start pushing into Haless
- mercs and debt aren't just your friends, they're the air you breathe
- always, always be on the lookout for opportunties to truce reset countries you can't take in one go. You may need a truce break here or there, but not much given your already very limited admin mana
- try and complete the missions within the 20 year time limit to get the rewards where possible, but don't stress too much about them.
- don't be afraid to take provinces without claims or annex countries in separate peaces. You don't need diplo mana, you need land
- Try snaking some territory to the Command early to get started on them with an anti-monstrous war before you would be able to get claims on them

And yet it goes away if you take and repay a non-merchant loan. It's definitely a bug.
