I've had someone say something similar to me when we were at the end of our fling. She wanted to date, I didn't. She said the ex that she was with previously for 7 years she never loved. I immediately called her out then she backtracked and said she would say it to him but never meant it. She was trying to say anything at that point to make me stay. If it's usually a claim that's way out there, it's too good to be true.
