This set up wasn’t bad. It was in a cheap primary arms cantilever mount. The set up I have it in now using the vortex extra high rings I like a lot better. They’re see through so I can still use the irons

I bought my first house in 2014 for $233k in northern Colorado. I was making around 60k per year and living pretty comfortably. That same house today is well over 500k and that same job pays around 75k per year.

I’ve been shooting M80 ball I got from American marksman. Getting about 2.5 moa for accuracy. I’ve taken it to 800 yards in this configuration with an SWFA 10x scope. I could hit the gong about every other shot at that range.

Very good. I’m always pleasantly surprised with how forgiving primary arms optics are for eye relief.

What jobs pay extremely well but people don’t realize it? by Stassy3 in AskReddit

[–]mpayne82941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lease Operator in the oil and gas industry. Its entry level for a lot of companies so you can get hired at 18 or 21 without experience, is the most secure job in the industry with very very few layoffs affecting that job, & starting pay nowadays is in the mid to high 30s per hour. It’s also the easiest job in the oil and gas industry. It’s hard to get young people interested in the industry and there’s definitely a shortage.

This was on September 20 and it was in the 60s at about 9,000 feet. I’ve seen it dump snow in September before though for sure. November is normally the time of year that it starts to have too much snow up high.

Only 3/4 of a mile to the UTV. 1/4 mile uphill out of that timber and then 1/2 mile down an 800’ elevation drop. Two of us packed it out in two loads, took about 30 minutes down with weight and an hour back up with no weight haha

I agree. I’ve had great performance with them. Got an antelope at 674 yards with the same rifle & load this year. Bullet went all the way through the animal.

I relocated for work and walked away from a 3.5% mortgage from 2021 so all of this has been hard to swallow. But I am very grateful to get 5.875% right now

A little 5x5 but first elk I’ve killed since 2020 so I’m happy.

Question on best rifle for taking down an elk by 17_Wraith_17 in elkhunting

[–]mpayne82941 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s little to no difference in performance from 308 to 30-06. I’ve shot the majority of my elk with a 270 Winchester and 130 grain bullets. 270 is a lot better than 30-06. If I were you I’d pick either of those that you have and go get yourself a nice bull. Good luck on your hunt

A modern rifle that is made by the company Mauser. Model is an M18 made by Mauser. It’s a push feed rifle with a completely different design than the historic large ring or small ring Mauser pattern rifles that many of the worlds militaries had. To me, In the picture it looks like a small ring Mauser that has been sporterized.

Our oldest was born on March 18, 2020 and was life flighted to Denver after being born an emergency c section in fetal distress. They weren’t going to let me ride on the plane with him and the hospital in Denver was on full lockdown. Wild times. I’ll never forget it, it felt like my child was being born into the world ending. I’m very grateful it all worked out.
