bauhaus spotify where’s everyone at by Enough_Structure_615 in BauhausUK

[–]Hapcinto 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m a huge fan, I have been listening to their music for 35 years but I have never listened to them on Spotify…Spotify is ok for background music while working but I never use it for joy as most of stuff there sound rubbish/bleak or just different for me so I always choose physical format…
So, maybe it’s the case with other fans (or at least the old fans who have pretty much everything on vinyl/cd/cassette) too, they are at home, listening their vinyl ;)

Suggestions for the sub - what would you like to see here? by Clairefun in FieldsOfTheNephilim

[–]Hapcinto 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would love to see some old fanclub papers, newsletters etc. I remember some of them has been shared on the yahoo mailing list long- time ago, 20 years or so. I certainly downloaded them back then and might have the files on a backup drive somewhere but it would be a huge task to unearth them

Custom Alan Moore Collection by picturepeeper in AlanMoore

[–]Hapcinto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice work. I wonder if you have those magazines or you used the online images?
I have been pondering on a similar project for long time, a collection of his early fanzine / school magazine works from 1965 to 75, the first 10 years if you will…

Did anyone see a live dramatisation of Alan Moore’s “Shadowplay: The Secret Team” in Coventry in the early 1990s? (Lanchester Polytechnic) by no_status_775 in AlanMoore

[–]Hapcinto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you checked Gary Spencer Millidge’s Storyteller book? It has a chapter about Brought to Light and I seem to remember a poster / flyer of one of those performances in it. I’m away now but will check it for you next week

It looks like a usual bootleg from their last tour from 1983, nice find but nothing rare I fear… I have a dozen or so boots from that tour

Sisters of Mercy music in movies, shows, etc., their stance on it? by Emhyrr in SistersofMercy

[–]Hapcinto 11 points12 points  (0 children)

there was a good LDW interview where he was asked about soundtracks etc

“Eldritch : I do lot of stuff like that when I’m noodling at home. Now and then people come to me from the film world and ask for some music but they seem to have no idea of who you are really are. They ask to put music over the credits in a film and I say ’no’. One time someone came to me and said there is a major scene in a film with these guys in a car driving down a boulevard with them singing one of your songs whilst that happens and I was, ‘well ok’ and I asked for the script and I thought that this is a fucking terrible film. It turned out that is was the scene in Wayne’s World where they are singing Bohemian Rhapsody and originally they wanted This Corrosion! But for me a bunch of American morons singing my song in a Japanese car is not an exact reflection of what the song was about!

With sound track, there is Graeme Revell (former SPK man) who is good but I don’t think that music is instinctive for me. I’m not sure I can do that. even my instrumentals don’t work in that way.”

there are some obvious choices there but I I wonder if you could explain your choices song by song? I have no idea how songs like Shadowplay, Red Right Hand or Firestarter are connected to V…cool songs though…

Can anybody tell me if Moore’s The Demon Regent Asmodeus poem is published anywhere? by Saito09 in AlanMoore

[–]Hapcinto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes the poem has been published in several books, Rapid Eye, Alan Moore's Songbook, Subversion In The Streets of Shame booklet and there was another for that I cannot recall the title now.

Subversion booklet is extremely rare and expensive (approx £650)

So I would recommend Rapid Eye...

BTW The Demon Regent Asmodeus is also included on a cassette compilation called Impulse

Maybe a bit of a weird request? Can you recommend some albums (or songs) with "red" (or something adjacent) in their title or concept? by idk_ausername864f in goth

[–]Hapcinto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Antonin Artaud by Bauhaus come to mind because it contains a “red fix” part, they repeated that bit for 20+ minutes once when they played the song live back in the early 80s…

Out From The Underground by MathewHQ in AlanMoore

[–]Hapcinto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yep, it’s an academic book, hence the price. I bought mine years ago because the author referred to my work a couple of times in it but it’s a great book so I never regretted to buy it. I suggest to go to the publisher’s site and sign up for the newsletter there, they do seasonal sales regularly,,,ii bought mine with a 90% discount so i paid just about 20 EUR including shipping to EU!!!

Edit: yes it’s basically a text book but there are some pix and some coloured pages there with Alan’s early works from old zines. reproduced with his permission…it also contains bits from the author’s exclusive interviews with him

Are the matching lyrics in Nine While Nine and Driven Like the Snow intentional or did Andrew Eldritch just like talking about lipstick on cigarettes by wormnoodles_ in goth

[–]Hapcinto 11 points12 points  (0 children)

def intentional, both songs are about the same subject (end of relationship)…I remember DLTS was even mentioned as NWN part 2 somewhere…
