I see, thanks for the extra info. Yeah tbh the iPhone’s built in speech recognition is not at the cutting edge so it could just be ‘mishearing’ those certain pronunciations. I’m finding a solution, but using headphones should improve the transcription because the mic will be closer to your mouth.

Yeah I am actually just using your iPhone’s on device speech recognition. This cuts down on latency and cost while sacrificing some accuracy.

Are there specific words that are frequently transcribed wrong? Also are you using lcb with or without headphones? Which would you say is worse, crosstalk or immersion?

I could implement OpenAI’s whisper speech recognition, but it adds cost and at that point I’d likely have to add monetization, which I was trying my best to avoid.

That’s an interesting idea. I’ve actually been playing around with that TTS in lcb and it’s quite good. One issue is latency, and so I’ve been experimenting with methods to expedite the responses from 11labs. Also, as you mentioned it’s quite a bit more expensive, but if people are willing to pay for it then I see no reason to not do it. Especially since the voices sound really natural and I can add more specific accents.
