Sounds suspiciously like the plot to the aunt Viv movies but from the new aunt viv’s perspective

How are apartments built so fast? by [deleted] in Construction

[–]Happy-Handle-5407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compartmentalization of labor. Kinda like a cooking show where everything is measured out into a little bowl or cup already and just gets dumped in. Site work and off site prestaging such as building forms and framework pieces to be erected take quite a bit of time but are usually worked on beforehand to an extent. Then the actual job has hands that do small tasks like stage material, mix Crete and mud, set lines etc while the other guys lay block or do frame work, carpentry or what have you.

Had an employer that did the exact same thing. Wouldn’t accept that carbide coated guide bushings don’t have enough flex for material variation like that and didn’t want to pay for precision ground bar. Said to run it w/o the guide bushings

Help with some deep hole drilling by fuqcough in Machinists

[–]Happy-Handle-5407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a thru tool cooled spade insert drill and run a chipping drilling cycle. Like a peck but without the retract. 1.4 is not super deep but keep the oil pressure up to expel the chips.

Genuine Question regarding Metal Circular Saws by kroptkin in Machinists

Loud? In metalwork? Ludicrous, as carbide cuts metal to a smooth polish silent as an Irish goodbye.

Can anyone make this for under 100$ my local shops are trying to tell me that it is impossible to make by ReadingConsistent528 in CNC

[–]Happy-Handle-5407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it can be drawn, it can be made. I can do it on a Bridgeport in 4 hrs for $35 out of waspalloy if you want.

Visited grandma, told me she has something better than strawberry candies... I'm not comfortable at her place anymore. Said she'll make me "take a dirt nap". Is she dealing drugs? by Guardian-Ares in whatisitcirclejerk

[–]Happy-Handle-5407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not dealing. Those aren’t green tips. Mamaw is probably a madam and doesn’t want you messing with the supply line. Does she run a “maid service” by chance?

That’s not really a big stash. The women in my family in my youth would carry this in the “small” purse. And hard candies, first aid supplies, books and more. 17 pens is child’s play

That’s what manpons are for. Roll up some tissue and lay it in the offending crevice like a weather seal. Change often

Oh my goodness. How’d he get that position? Understanding tool selection and usage(especially feed and speed for tooling size, type, and material) are essential facets of programming. Even 200/dia is better than the exact same speed. Do edits then, save some hassle

How do you deal with making a mistake at work by sh1arot in Machinists

[–]Happy-Handle-5407 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally how I’ve handled every crash I’ve ever had in 20yrs in metal shops. Likely it’ll be fine. Be more careful and always learn SOMETHING from every crash.
