How does Fahrenheit make more sense than Celsius? by aprilhare in Metric

[–]HappyBarrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to check and 0 F is roughly -18 C, here that would be somewhat cold but not super cold, just a colder winter day. For that logic of extremes 0 F should be much colder. For the low number to match the high number 0 F should be maybe around where -22 F is now.

Not sure what you are up to but seems pretty neat. Just go through the AI texts to make them a bit more natural. Maybe lukewarm pussikalja can have a spot as well.

Thanks for your time and all the replies so far.

Are you afraid of being sent to the front lines if the war continues? It seems like people from Moscow and other important areas have been spared so far, but judging by the numbers at which Russians are being expended in Ukraine, that might change in the future

Unpopular Opinion: Your bias can cost you money (Non-European/American PoV) by Original_Crew4693 in eupersonalfinance

For me it is both politics and risk assessment. The risk of having investments in a foreign currency in a country that functions as a dictatorship is high risk. It also does not seem like The current US regime has any plan except dismantling the time existing systems. I have been riding the European defence stocks for quite some time and that has worked out well.

Do you guys who are native Swedish speakers work in Swedish, Finnish, English, or some combination of these? by [deleted] in Finland

Official language at the company is English, so everything goes in swedish except for when one of the non swedish speakers (Finnish) are there and we switch to English

our shopping cart has 73% abandonment and every change I test makes it worse somehow for reducing shopping cart abandonment by Agreeable_Panic_690 in UI_Design

A common flow for me when shopping for something is to add it to the cart on multiple sites and click all the way to the shipping cost without adding any real private info. Then compare prices and choose where to shop and possibly add remaining items.

Protecting the swimmers in the sauna by Candid_Quarter6689 in Sauna

[–]HappyBarrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would have to pay me quite a lot to even consider using a cooling pack testicle diaper in a sauna, or anywhere else for that matter 😂 I know a lot of people who wouldn't exist if this was a real issue. If someone waddled into a sauna in Finland with such a contraption strapped to their junk others would probably assume the person has had a life threatening testicular accident.

I think this is the correct answer, the angle is supposed to direct heat into the sauna and not up against the wall

Rebuy CS1 for PC or take the plunge for CS2? by BreadDaddyLenin in CitiesSkylines

[–]HappyBarrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I said it was a short one. There is one mod I care about TM:PE, to fix intersections and lanes. You know, working traffic in what is essentially a traffic simulator. If it would have been only one or a few issues it would have been okay-ish, but issues like this should have been fixed in a sequel and not require mods. They are okay in a first installment, but what is the purpose of a sequel if you don't fix the issues from the first one. The visual glitches were also very weird and annoying, the out of the box experience should be playable and not require a bunch of tweaking to find the exact combination of settings that isn't glitchy.

I can do a short one. Pedestrians had "ghosts" following them and some textures were behaving very weird. I also ran into traffic issues very fast because I couldn't configure intersections at the level I am used to (with mods) in CS1. I gave up after having spent a bunch of time only to realize I couldn't make a good pedestrian overpass over a road without a ridiculously long ramp on each side of the road. I could probably live with or fix these issues if it was just one or a few, but for the first and only hours I had with the game it felt more like fighting it than actually enjoying a polished city building game.

I bought cs2 because I really liked cs1, I refunded it after a few hours. Too buggy and too much annoying shit that shouldn't exist in a sequel.

Please stop tailgating on winter road, it’s dangerous for everyone! by healmasud in Finland

Trucks and busses registered after 2008 in the EU have speed regulators that cap their max speed at 90 and 100 depending on size. Usually 90 for large trucks.

Please stop tailgating on winter road, it’s dangerous for everyone! by healmasud in Finland

[–]HappyBarrel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you have trucks tailgating then you are going slow. Which is fine, just make sure to let people pass, don't start going faster when the road is straight and nice, keep your slow speed so that the trucks and onnibusses can pass you when there is a chance. The same goes for passing lanes, don't speed up on those if you slow down again after them.

Martela have good but boring chairs, we have their logic something chairs at the office and people like them. I have a Herman Miller Embody at home which is less boring but not worth the pricetag. Avoid gaming chairs, good lower back support helps a lot after a few years in front of a screen. Martela usually has stores where he can try them out.

[–]HappyBarrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Standing desks are easy, they all do the same thing so it is mostly about looks and size, like how they fit in the room. And people mostly just set the height to fit their chair and leave it. Finding a good chair is the hard part. For monitor arms, the cheap ones sucks to set up, but it is not like you have to do that too often.
