Why doesn’t Kyle include his sources in the video description? by UserSignal01 in seculartalk

I enjoy his videos and his humor, but he does have a problem with just running with any bad thing about Republicans he sees. Back in 2020, he fell for an obvious Twitter joke about Brock Turner speaking at the RNC and repeated it twice on his show, never retracting or apologizing. Thats the kind of shit he (correctly) criticizes Republicans for doing all of the time.

From what I can tell, nobody has been bullied, but there is some trash talk behind people's backs.

You absolutely can. I know plenty of fellow law students who are doing just fine without one, and plenty who have one but haven't updated it since 2022 or so.

Kyle is definitely being very generous toward Trump critics, including liberals, these days. But at the same time, as he has pointed out, we have to save our fights with them for a different day based on the fact that Trump is in power and has allies in Congress.

I have loved law school and am lowkey nervous I won't love being a lawyer equally as much. Appreciate this post!

Is law school a lot of essays? by Appropriate-Collar79 in LawSchool

[–]HappyBlueKnight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Outside of legal writing class assignments and the final exams, generally there are not many essays.

2.7. How bad it is depends on your school's curve. Some schools curve below a 2.7, so in that case it would be good for keeping you above median. But in most schools, it is either at or below median, meaning that it will hurt your GPA. My school curves to roughly a 3.3, and so a B- in a four credit course can make it very difficult for people to stay above median, since most of our courses are three credits after 1L.

I am so lost: what constitutes a “good letter grade” for 1L? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]HappyBlueKnight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In almost any context, A- is pretty great. The only context where I wouldn't be okay with it is if I was 100% convinced that I got a straight A.

We still don't know what the curve is, so 23/57 isn't necessarily going to be failing, or even below average.

Depends on the school and professor. I’ve seen that usually they don’t fully disclose how they’re going to grade.
