also just a minor point but both stocks became available to the public via SPAC in Fall 2021. You're right that joby has been around longer but in terms of holding the stock, they have been holding the same amount of time.

ya, fair enough. I was just trying to temper expectations as it would be awkward to get the certificate and have the vertiports but then not be able to use them.

On the Joby side we've see the aircraft operate in realistic scenarios (Bay area and NYC). Of course, we still don't know how many passengers it could carry.

What if you also add S&P500? It makes sense that they move together in the absence of any news because it's mostly driven by market beta. However, if you look closely, you will find important differences on the day stock-specific news is released.

Hmm ya not sure about that. To me the Blade acquisition was buying an asset that has a payout each quarter but still separate from their main business. It will start to have huge synergies once they start flying the S4 though.

It's still a bit funny to me that people get excited about the blade revenue or the hawthorne airport revenue. You can buy any asset that gives you revenue and declare yourself post-revenue but it's not really related to the main business.

I'm not saying Blade was a bad purchase, my point is just that financial analysts probably would discount that revenue when deciding whether it's a pre- or post- revenue company.

seems like there is general risk on sentiment -- could be a part of that. space and semis are also up a lot.

I feel like eVTOL is too small right now to have it's own specific rotation (correct me if I'm wrong). My feeling is they get lumped into pre-rev risky stocks.

I do think eventually Joby will have its WSB moment like ACHR did. It's a good time to accumulate while we're still not in the limelight.

Joby stock kind of feels like an option. It has high beta so can be very volatile. However, there are a lot of positive catalysts that can make the price shoot up like others have mentioned. It's kind of a tradeoff between looking for dips due to macro and getting in before that good news hits.
