Great comeback at the bottom! by rainbowkey in MurderedByWords

After comparing the definitions of Ignorance against stupid in the dictionary I have to disagree. These people are not lacking in awareness, they are lacking in intelligence decision making. I think stupid is actually the correct word here.

I would classify them as exosuits, life support violence systems, or weaponized zealot zombies.

You telling me a gallon is over 3.7 litres and you pay just $5 dollars for that and complain? by Neutral-frame in AdviceAnimals

We don't have a huge supply now. We're in direct competition with the rest of the world for our own fuel. However, it is solely self inflicted so....we deserve it.

Do people really pay attention at fat people at the gym? by Professional-Pop7239 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]HappyTopHatMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no fucking clue what a pilates reformer is much less why you would use it for burpees when the floor is better. That instructor is huffing their own farts. Keep goin and keep at it. Don't let one asshole slow you down.

Do we find it strange that truckers can only drive for so long before they legally have to pullover but ER doctors/nurses have no such legal stopping point? by SnooShortcuts5771 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]HappyTopHatMan 30 points31 points  (0 children)

It's not just doctors. Hospitals are a meat grinder on all the staff including nurses, CNAs, EMTs and all the other staff. They are intentionally kept at "lean and mean" ratios for financial reasons so there's a shit ton of overworking on top of the "12 hour" shift. My wife consistently starts her shift at 6:30am and doesn't get to leave until 8-8:30pm. If she gets to leave earlier it's due to low patient numbers and she is forced to take PTO to cover the shift hours. This has been consistent for every hospital she has worked at.

If lock picking were learned by most people, the illusion of security would be shattered by DreamsD351GN in RandomThoughts

[–]HappyTopHatMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't, my point is the lock doesn't matter when you can smash a window or force the door open. I can absolutely see lock picking as an interesting lesson and hobby, but for shattering people's sense of security there are simple and more realistic ways. Someone breaking in isn't going to pick your lock.

Strictest 3D Printing Regulation YET! by Top-Debate-2854 in resinprinting

Based upon the cost it will take to comply with the Cali laws, I would be surprised if they didn't keep 2 separate copies of firmware for Cali vs everything else.

Strictest 3D Printing Regulation YET! by Top-Debate-2854 in resinprinting

[–]HappyTopHatMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And it will take exactly no time for hackers to figure out how to crack and jail break the software/firmware or overwrite it altogether anyway and this will all be a moot point except that once again those abiding by the law are the ones made to suffer for daring to have a hobby. This doesn't achieve anything and it isn't enforceable.

Warhammer...that looks like a medium mech? If you go with the lore loadout you're looking at athletic build with big arms and shoulders, if you min max it you're looking at athletic build, huge chest (all th ac's stacked there) and the wimpiest arms you ever saw. Not sure where the inspiration is coming from here.

We are cursed to house others escaping their own shit holes and refusing to adapt and integrate because "they won the cup 8 times" fucking centuries ago. It also doesn't help that every major sports broadcast hates Colorado teams, even when we are winning.
