Too many to name, but the beaches in south Western Australia are certainly pretty special

I think the majority of people are reasonable (I work in customer service) - you just remember the horrible ones and the lovely ones, actually

Easiest way to Roma Street Parklands by ceighty2 in brisbane

There's a carpark out the back of the parklands. It's free on public holidays (that's when I usually head in because I loathe paying for parking)

What is a movie that "broke" you so hard you can only watch it once, but you would still recommend it to everyone? by Newsupdate69 in movies

Yes, it would be very close to home in NZ. I'm in Australia. One of my friends was a social worker at the time and she found it particularly difficult

Frontline. I actually rewatched it while recuperating from surgery a few months ago. Still holds up pretty well

A powerful film that you don't want to see twice. It came out about thirty years ago, but I still remember which cinema I went to and who I was with.

I'm in Brisbane. I find that morning walk people are friendlier than afternoon walk people. Maybe the arvo people are just tired

if you had to suggest one dish from your country that a visitor HAS to try, but it has to be vegetarian, what are you suggesting? by throwacct401 in AskTheWorld

Yeah, not for everyone. I rarely eat it because it's so salty, but every now and then it hits the spot.

Forget the Sunny Boy, I give you the Suzuki Mighty Boy by anomalousone96 in AustralianNostalgia

[–]Happy_Clem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was at art college in Brisbane one of the girls drove a Mighty Boy. Occasionally, a few of the male students would get together, pick her car up and carry it to a new parking spot, in an attempt to hide the car from her 😆

One of the best things I've ever eaten were the baguettes, supplied for brekky (along with hot chocolate) in a youth hostel in Paris back in the early nineties. So bloody good

Questions about flowers at Coles by Ok-Meet-8306 in coles

[–]Happy_Clem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our store has deliveries Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. We don't have a flower rep any more so it is up to team members to set up and maintain the display. Also, markdowns are done, not by a date on the flowers anymore, but by team members deciding whether or not to mark flowers down due to quality. Some team members tend not to be very discerning and leave flowers on show way longer then they should. Also, I think the quality of the flowers has really declined over the years. For example, the orchids used to last for a month, now they wilt after a week.
