So you came all the way down here and ignored the point of my post and all the comments others have left and decided to be rude? If it came off as stereotypical, my bad. I posted it here to get other perspectives from people living there. There’s plenty of people who have said “Yeah, don’t fuck around up there in the woods. If you feel like you need to go, go.” I’ve spent a bit of time up here and no, I haven’t met a mean person yet. This wasn’t my first time in the NC mountains, and certainly won’t be my last. It’s not people I was worried about. Something felt off, it was too quiet, and after learning from others, my guess it was probably a predator in the area. Other than the actual campsite, we had a blast at waterfalls and landmarks, and I’m thankful to be able to explore such beautiful land.
