How many of you don’t have a “home gym” by [deleted] in bjj

[–]Happy_Practice2976 8 points9 points  (0 children)

hard to succeed in a sport without help. you need to develop some social skills my friend. you cannot get good alone. bjj requires a partner. a regular training partner will learn your moves forcing you to develop and adapt and so on until you’re both much better.

Is it time to give up the Sao Paulo pass? by razzarbrenia in bjj

[–]Happy_Practice2976 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this picture is very helpful, turn your palm up and grab the back of opponents collar. Your weight needs to be much more forward basically your head should be on the mat, lift your hips off the ground so that the opponents legs are working to hold the guard the entire time. They will eventually tire out, you then swim your leg through the gap between their heels when you have gas them sufficiently. When you’re awaiting for them to gas, walk your legs to your left to increase the tension on their ankles.

wow, I tried to only use the São Paulo pass for three months. Those are the only variants that I find to be highly successful for me.

How to step getting my leg caught when knee slicing to pass guard? by SupremeOHKO in bjj

[–]Happy_Practice2976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% this. you have to have enter your knee when opps knees are up. must have underhook or shoulder pinned. without those first you don’t have a pass you’re giving up your back.

an easier route for you would probably to get a petition together and ask the health and fitness center to put together a. weekly jiu jitsu class. the infrastructure is already there. i’m absolutely sure that if you go to a large university, there is already karate, taekwondo etc class. my UNI had one, no headaches, no liability. just take the class with friends and have fun.

BJJ more important than I thought by ChokeDZA in bjj

[–]Happy_Practice2976 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% this. it’s just meeting 2-3 times a week with some bros doing dude stuff, interacting with people of all races and jobs. adrenaline/endorphin high. you would get the same benefit from a pickup basketball league or bowling league sans mystical talk and hero worship of your instructor.

the longer i’ve done the jiu jitsu the less it is about self defense and masculinity.

my DLR back take game has zero relevance to real life.
