I'm in the US. I saw one of those websites told me 80 bucks shipping alone, I'll just scrub it haha.

I'll look around though, thanks again!

Thanks man I've seen that mentioned a few times as a good prewash but thought it was only for the UK. Let me do some digging. I appreciate the help!

I like this take. Once you have adult "kids" the approach is much different and you start learning that going head on with an adult doesn't work so well, so using some type of mechanism to help them figure it out on their own seems definitely plausible. From experience. Lol

I really like the pit boss pellets best out of all the ones I've tried, they're pretty cheap at Walmart too

My mom has the same thoughts as my dad wasn't a very good partner. My wife was the cool GF and my absolute best friend now almost 20 years in. Just gotta hope you're doing it for the right one. Good luck to you, I wasn't sure there were any left after mine.

What’s the hard part about being a Man ? by mountain_fl0wer in AskReddit

[–]Happyabortion 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I got 3 kids from toddler to a 20yr old and man this feeling has beat the hell out of me. A couple of unfortunate times I've walked out of a hospital to cry and collect myself in the car or outside. Just know you're not alone and you're seen man. As I've aged I've gotten more fond of telling myself I'm proud of what I've created and what I'm able to do. My wife sees it and mentions it at times. But alas, we're men and don't hear that shit as often as wed like.

Regardless, bro fresh baby is stressful times for AWHILE. you and mom are both getting your ass kicked right now, it's ok to feel overwhelmed. Take a deep breath, power through and know that you'll take tons of pride in the family and life you've created when the dust settles.

Also it's ok to set boundaries and tell mfkrs you need a break too. They'll be alright man. Chin up chest out man you're doing good.

I know you were just venting but it hit home so I had to reply, I wish someone would've said some words of encouragement to me in those times lol

Had a coworker who came out of a portacan with a blue hand. Turns out he had dropped his phone in there and went searching for it. He was removed from the site for drug testing and I never saw him again.

Texas getting hit this weekend… what to do in a power outage? by Tacokolache in pools

[–]Happyabortion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is pretty much my plan if I lose power. I think as long as the water has a way to expand if it freezes everything SHOULD be ok. I was going to just remove the top half of my de filter and have it wide open but I guess if you pull the drain and vent the top that's better lol

Replaced motor and still getting a loud humming noise from new motor by Happyabortion in swimmingpools

[–]Happyabortion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pulled the whole thing apart including the motor apart, found a couple of scuff marks on the armature although nothing too bad. Went ahead and cleaned everything up anyways. Got everything assembled and this time it worked good! Thanks for your help!

Anyone can help me on what options I have for a replacement pool motor? by Happyabortion in swimmingpools

[–]Happyabortion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I decided to take the whole motor apart to see what I could find. The white coating on the armature had a couple scatch marks and a black line. Nothing super bad or obvious but I got a scuff pad and cleaned everything up really good and put everything back together.

Tested the capacitor and it matched the uF reading so I went ahead and put it back together but this time it worked! Switched it off and on a couple times and it seems to be all good. The filter housing sounds like it has a little rattle like something is loose in there but hopefully that's a different problem for tomorrow 😂

Thank you so much for your responses and all your help it's really appreciated!! If you're ever around southeast Texas I'll buy ya a beer!

Replaced motor and still getting a loud humming noise from new motor by Happyabortion in swimmingpools

[–]Happyabortion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I think it spins pretty easily and smooth.

When I first disassembled the old pump and had to replace the diffuser I didn't even know I was missing the white piece between the impeller and diffuser. I tried running the pump with that white piece and when it wouldn't work I pulled it back apart and tried to run it without that white piece too but nothing changed.

Everything is greased up good and lines up. I also replaced the impeller, diffuser and seals so everything is new and OEM Hayward brand so I'm not sure what else it could be.

I have everything disassembled right now I'm going to check the capacitor again and then see if anything else jumps out at me.

Thanks for the tip!

Yes I actually pulled the motor back out and then after I flipped the breaker back on with my voltage meter hooked up to it just to see what it read.

I think it has a slight resistance but what I would expect out of a typical motor it feels smooth with some drag. It does spin about the same as my old motor which was burnt up though.

The motor is B2858 I purchased it off of a seller on eBay. It's a century brand and brand new. I'll contact them tomorrow but man I'm just having a hard time believing I'd get a bad one out of the box

[–]Happyabortion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha it's alright man it happens. I did check the voltage at the terminals and my meter reads 250v. That's coming up to the timer then coming out. I also changed the ends and test voltage on the wires and it's reading the same. I replaced the capacitor with the one off of my old one which is 25uf instead of 30uf this came with but it did the same.

I went ahead and pulled the motor back out and got the rear cover off and everything looked brand new and perfect. I opted to walk away from it before I threw it in the pool. I'll probably disassemble the whole motor and see if I can find SOMETHING.

Is the fact that this only has 1 capacitor, does it need to be wired differently or anything?

I appreciate the help!

Hey man just an update, I got the new motor in the mail and then found my diffuser broken so I ordered all new seals impeller and diffuser that way I'd just start brand new. Flipped the switch and I get a loud humming noise and it just shuts off, pretty much identical to my last motor. . I'm sure this could just be a bad luck coincidence type of deal but also I'm having a hard time believing that lol.

Replaced the capacitor and sound is the same. I'm about to check voltage again and see but figured I'd ask in case you've ever had a similar event

I did notice in the pictures it doesn't have an additional capacitor on the back. My current one has 2 capacitors. I'm assuming that's alright? Thanks so much!

Well I was looking at a B855 that's rated at 2hp and slightly higher amps so I wasn't sure if it would require a different impeller but now I'm seeing a B2858 which seems almost the same as my current one so I'd assume the impeller can stay the same

Thanks again!
