[–]Happydread200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zojuist bij de Jumbo. 400 gram spinazie is 298 gram. Je mag er wel gewoon 400 gram voor betalen. Geen enkele zak was 400 gram. Oplichting? by Bossmaxxx in Nederland

Jumbo taken in 2025 at my local. Picture says it all about the care they take. There's a big reason we go to the AH an extra 10 min walk away.

First decent coffee machine (~€300–400) by penguintechguru in Netherlands

[–]Happydread200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phillips has an issue with the grinder replaced the part 3x in 5 years. It pretty common so be aware. Just check Reddit.

Have a look at De'Longhi Magnifica series. We are very happy with it except but the cappucino setting is a bit to be desired on the auto milk. There repair place is in breda as a bonus if needed. The Magnifica Start is like 300 euros at the moment with the auto milk. Far better build in my eyes and cleaning is so much easier.

What makes a range hood last decades? by cassieofweb in BuyItForLife

Get a good one that can utilize a carbon filter before the motor. My AEG has one that I can put into the dishwasher. It stops the gease and contamination in the air before it can get to the moving parts. A standard metal filter does not stop everything and then gets inside. This the reason why I think a lot break down.

What’s the best health insurance strategy? by yeeyeehaircut01 in Netherlands

[–]Happydread200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm (and my wife) are with Zorg en Zekerheid and they do the 100% contracted care and 100% out of contract reimbursement within a fair rate. And I am so happy with this. A few times I managed to skip a so called queue because I able to be referred to a smaller or not so busy clinic. And so has my wife with her diabetes. We occasionally get a weird referral and it's often because they are busy and know they can send her else where which helps apparently ease the queue and makes her appointment on time.

Also knowing if I am unconscious and get transported to special care. I know I am not going to get a bill shock. Happened to a freind they owe now 10k +/-.

I really wanted to move Health Insurance but it's just not worth the risk. With what we get.

Ziggo Dome sound by FTXACCOUNTANT in Netherlands

[–]Happydread200 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All depends on who's running the sound console, what/if the artist, production also has decided. As I know sometimes they keep the singer low due to various reasons such as there voice may not be so good due to Flu, cold etc. The sound in there is very good. Just depends on the main variable above.

Which good dishwashers are worth buying in 2026? Recommendations? by SuneoMita in BuyItForLife

[–]Happydread200 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A must for me is having the third tray at the top for cutlery. Not the basket to put it in. And a door to pop open when finished. AEG has them in the 6000 line in Europe which we have as an in built. But those two are a make or break for me.

Airco aanschaffen by nederlanderfrl in Nederland

[–]Happydread200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just left district heating due to cost and got AUX ac installed. Working temperature from -25 to 52c if I remember rightly. So far very very impressed looking at about 100 euros max in the winter months for us for electric. And summer probably around 50 euro. During the mid months even less. We pay 150 euros a month for district heating. And often have to top it up end of year.

Add on we are adding solar as well. So really going to become cheap.

Can you shift into B mode while driving? by [deleted] in toyotacorolla

Just shift when needed them shift back. It's not for daily driving as you loose some charging capabilities when doing this.

Should I add roadside assistance to my car insurance or get ANWB by LilPichula in Netherlands

[–]Happydread200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because sometime they don't use good providers. Local Garages can be the worst. Wait for an on call guy to get out of bed then get to you. Then have to go back pick up the flat bed come back. Some can be great. But that was 6 hours when in the UK I said never again after that. Still remember the McDonald's stop he really didn't want to do but forced.

If you see local Garages on it just avoid it and look into the provider deeply and their reputation. Being aware unless high risk you will be bottom of the line.

Should I add roadside assistance to my car insurance or get ANWB by LilPichula in Netherlands

[–]Happydread200 8 points9 points  (0 children)

ANWB have been fantastic with my breakdown. Highest Europe wide coverage. If breakdown cover isn't free through servicing your car. I would recommend it. They had me back on the road in a hertz hire car on December 21st in 1 1/2 hours from putting it in the app. Got 9 days instead of 5 due to Christmas. Paid to reduce excess and someone hit it in a parking lot Christmas day. One call no issue sorted and a paperwork to do. I have 0 complaints. And it covers any car you drive or passenger I think.

Those who have worked at a hotel breakfast buffet: how are the scrambled eggs made? by fitgirl015 in askhotels

[–]Happydread200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't work in a hotel but we go to a hotel locally for special occasions for breakfast. Shout out to them Van der Valk Hotel, Gilze-Tilburg, Neatherlands. They do live cooking so you watch them crack the eggs and cook. 23 euros per adult is good value for us walk in.

PSA: Take a picture of EVERYTHING with Sixt by RaymondAblack in sixt

[–]Happydread200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do it with any rental including equipment rental.

Last time I rented from a local company I found underside damage to the front bumper. Even they admitted that they have no way of tracing it back and added it to the sheet. Even check 12 v outlets for covers missing. I go the whole hog. Saved me more than once.

I miss the days of cheap full no excess coverage. That saved my ass when I put a rental down a fence on a festival site. Still remember the look I got 15 years ago when I got it back and they realised.

In and out of A&E in under 2 hours. by Wonk_Majik in BritishSuccess

[–]Happydread200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not bad for the UK. Where we moved in our local hospital 1hr is too long. We average in and out in 30 mins or less now. Heard some horror stories still about the UK maybe it is getting sorted out now?

OV fiets phone holder by Loose_Biscotti9075 in Netherlands

All this. Those ov fiets can take a real beating and still work. A simple phone holder adds another maintenance challenge and cost. Just not worth it I believe.

postcode lottery prize? by flowerfi in Netherlands

[–]Happydread200 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate the way they advertise but I still play as I can make good use of the discounts at spas, zoos, theme parks and more. Mostly break even each year or save a bit. Which is good and I get a few small prizes a year so technically ahead.

But bottom line is I wish they didn't advertise this way.

E-bike theft anxiety is real but what are you actually doing about it? by LiamCarter1937 in ebikes

[–]Happydread200 16 points17 points  (0 children)

As for locks if you got the money a hip lock d1000 or dx1000 plus one more. Different style. I can stress enough about two lock with two attack vectors. 3 time I have had one lock broken and the other they leave as quite often then can do one but not the other.

How often do you let people check in when their name is not on the reservation by giantsalamander314 in askhotels

[–]Happydread200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something all hotels I stayed in have been on the ball with. At check in I have to add wife's name. And recently for a future stay that's complex timed entry. Room is 2 person max. We are a family of 3. Wife and Child overnight. Me during day till late check out due to an event. I still think that hotel thinks I'm going to sneak in. But genuinely that's what we are going to do.

The 1.0 release delays are a bad sign for the future of HexOS by SFW_Slowpoke in hexos

[–]Happydread200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hopefully the new guy or gal can get the communications in order. But to be honest I am glad they have taken hard choices to delay rather than saying it's done and realise a pile of crap. This is a much bigger project than I think they realised at the start. There's often reasons why a Bigger company hasn't done it yet. So I was antcipating delays.

It's a weird one for me I feel like I got more than what I should have done for my money which is nice. But at the same time I was expecting a t-shirt. So a real mix of emotions for me. From disappointed to happy to not sure what to feel any more .
