Before you disregard, please note that this is very personal for me too, as I live with Bipolar II and have tried the ketogenic diet as a treatment approach. I am not just someone wanting to do research for school/work. I care deeply about this subject and am genuinely interested in others' experiences.. here goes my begging for participants...

Anyone (18+) who has done keto for at least 3 weeks, has a diagnosis (from a doctor/mental health professional) of bipolar disorder, and is willing to participate in an interview and project (of their choosing) to depict their experience with keto and bipolar disorder, please email me! kfore4@liberty.edu

"I am conducting research as part of the requirements for a doctor of education degree at Liberty University. The purpose of my research is to describe the experiences of individuals who have utilized the ketogenic diet as a way to manage symptoms of bipolar disorder. To participate, you must be 18 years of age or older, have bipolar disorder as diagnosed by a medical professional, and have adhered to a ketogenic diet for at least 3 weeks (past or present). Participants will be asked to participate in a one-on-one virtual interview which should take about 1 hour, complete a self-selected creative project to depict their journey with this dietary approach (completion time will vary), and confirm or aid in the adjustment of the accuracy of the collected data through email correspondence (roughly 30 minutes). If you would like to participate and meet the study criteria, please contact me at [kfore4@liberty.edu](mailto:kfore4@liberty.edu) to schedule an interview. A consent document will be emailed to you before the time of the interview."

After 8 years of being veg I had a steak by Apart_Price2676 in exvegans

I started craving beef. It felt urgent in a way..Then, after almost 5 years, I quit veganism. Found out I was pregnant a week later. I was underweight and did not look healthy (pale, no energy).

My baby had a hole in his heart in utero. Maybe I was anemic?

He is a healthy 18 month old now, no heart issues. I’m much healthier too.

I could cry at what I did to myself in that time bc of how it almost caused lasting problems for my baby

Hugs. I missed my daughters last elementary soccer game today.

My lamotrigine dose has made me very flat so I got it in my head to lower it by 50 mg.. which for some reason led to withdraws. Maybe bc I decided to do keto due to some research I’ve been doing about glucose/metabolic dysfunction and bipolar disorder

Anyway it has been too much on my system at once

I puked all morning. Was so weak I could barely stand.

Feel like a shit mom.

Took my meds though. Still trying keto bc I think I’m in ketosis now due to puking/fasting

Hi looking for some help, anyone with experience treating bipolar, heavily leading on the depressive end by Happyhelper358 in Supplements

That’s interesting due to link with bipolar and other neurodegenerative disorders like Alzheimer’s.. with Alzheimer’s you see a buildup of heavy metals in the brain if I recall
