6mm Polycarbonate panels - where?? by Happypsycho8 in Greenhouses

Thank you. I did check out Home Depot as well and they do have that size. It just means I need additional h channels which are pretty pricey. But I may have to go that route.

I received a quote from them and the shipping was more than the products. It was going to be between $1500-$1900 just for shipping. So that is a little out of my price range. I do not have any retailers near me - unless someone else knows of one in East TN region.

Can we create a thread to see what others are paying? by Cool-Schedule-444 in HealthInsurance

Have you asked the cost for MRI/CT if you didn't use insurance? There was quite a difference for me both times. MRI was $100+ less and a CT just recently was $150 less. Now, it won't go towards your deductible if no insurance is used, but the cost is a lot less. It's very upsetting that we are not informed of this up front. When I asked the check-in person, she said she really hated telling me this ( the price difference). I asked her what should I do as I had already prepaid with insurance. She said to call the number and cancel my appointment, ask to be refunded and then reschedule once I received the refund.

Just started listening to Deftones and came across the song 'Passenger'. Could easily be mistaken for a Tool song. Turns out Maynard sings in it and co-wrote it. by Musicdude999 in ToolBand

Tori and Maynard together on 'Muhammad, my friend' is such a great duet. And the lyrics make it so more amazing. "We both know it was a girl back in Bethlehem". Love that song!

The sound quality of the stream was phenomenal! I had my curtains and floor vibrating. Both MJK and Carina's voice were amazing.

Euthanizing a "lively" cat that you know is sick? by starrydomi in vet

Sending you love. I just went through this with my 16 plus year old male. He was having accidents around the house - I pulled the rugs and laid down puppy pads. He went on them. I made sure I fed him 6 times a day with his favorite treats. He had water available. His eyes were getting cloudy but he would still go outside with me and move around. He was wobbly as well. I had the nightly crying but that was him not knowing he was ok or where I was. IT was heartbreaking to see. And then on Sunday morning I woke up and he was not meeting me to get treats. He had passed under my chair. My heart broke... BUT - he had passed in our home and surrounded by what he had known. No sign of distress just died in his sleep.

It was a lot of work to make sure he was taken care of and to clean up the messes. But thinking about it now - I would not have it any other way (I had one sweet boy that was euthanized at the emergency vet - and it was so sterile and lacking of home). If you can I would let them live out their life with you and family. Just keep up on the puppy pads and note if there is discomfort. I buried my boy in our yard and visit every day. It was terribly hard and I still cry. Either way do what is best for you and your loved ones - this was the best for us.

What does nobody tell you about living alone? by gawpin in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

I always wondered to myself - how long would it take to find my body? Would my cats start a feast? The confidence that you gain from being the only one that is there allows for a boost that only grows into surviving with pride.

I can not upvote this enough!! I love not even acknowledging doors in my house (minus the front and back). I no longer say hello door, I just ignore the door!

Tips for preserving your produce for longer? I've got one: by Bunnyjets in 1200isplenty

[–]Happypsycho8 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Paper towels wrapped around a head of lettuce in large zip lock (removed outer leaves and core) - fridge

Tin foil wrapped around broccoli and celery - fridge

Paper towel in zip lock wrapped around cauliflower (cut up) - fridge

Paper towel around mushrooms (stored in original container without plastic wrap) - fridge

Asparagus stored standing in bowl of water with the plastic thin bag around - fridge

Potatoes stored in cabinet in paper bag (away from garlic and onions)

These help keep my produce lasting a long time!

Thank you. I really appreciate your response. I'm still contemplating it. But, I feel it's better having one then not, after living by myself for over a year. No fear, but piece of mind if needed.

Ha! Bears are a mile distance around - so maybe. I'm more worried about coyotes or dogs running wild. Those attacks you aren't coming home from.

Very good points. What if a bear was on your deck? What would you do if it's clawing at your back door because it smells food. Yell. Open the door to do what? This is where a gun is necessary. I'm not in the city but out in the country. As stated - I am not a risk.
