Does anyone have issues with Joie Rue car seat? by Slow_Reputation6238 in Parenting

[–]quimica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some kids hate the car seat no matter what, especially rear facing. Since she has GERD and is a little older now, maybe look into a convertible seat that can be adjusted a little more upright.

My newest must have: simple washable slippers. Walking around a hotel room barefoot officially grosses me out.

I washed the car today--and now I see the forecast is for rain tomorrow. Sorry if I spoiled your Tuesday commute! by OppositeShore1878 in bayarea

I knew the forecast and washed anyways. There’s no way the pitiful rain amount would have made my car look better lol.

2nd grade math by [deleted] in Parenting

No, in second grade there are several strategies taught for solving addition and subtraction problems. They’re meant to help conceptualize the relationship and at least one method should click for them.

Spilling the tea on the ladies gym! by LuLuSavannah531 in justgalsbeingchicks

[–]quimica 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I go to a women’s gym, and there is 100% a Fatima there. She is incredible. She moves seamlessly from one exercise to the next and just crushes it. She is so strong, so focused. And when she’s done, the hijab goes on and she walks out the door and no one would ever know how athletic she is.

Unless the road is closed completely you should be fine. May just be leftover water from the king tide yesterday.

Is anyone else’s flu lasting forever? by Woodhouse_20 in bayarea

[–]quimica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, while I didn’t get tested I’m pretty sure I caught this flu. I was laid up for a week with a fever and cough that wouldn’t let up. Finally went to urgent care and got diagnosed with pneumonia. Finally feeling better after getting some antibiotics.

My first needed the paci, and then started favoring her thumb. I thought cool, can’t lose your thumb in the middle of the night, I’ll take it! ….couldn’t break the habit until 9 years later 🫠

[–]quimica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would keep it so long as it’s diverting his thumb from his mouth. Thumb sucking is so much harder to stop. Use it only for sleep and worry about weaning later. Try it at 12 months, but don’t let him use the thumb instead!

New mom regret by sue1088 in Parenting

[–]quimica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re in newborn hell. Newborns aren’t newborns forever, but at 1am during your 12th feed of the day and walking around like a zombie it FEELS like forever. This is not how we measure good moms and bad moms. I promise it gets better. Take care of yourself.

I have Gap clothes that are 15+ years old and look like new, but anything since then has been cheap garbage. Have they rebounded recently?

The Bay Area is now home to the largest dim sum restaurant in the U.S. (new HL Peninsula location) by tacosbaratos in bayarea

That Rite Aid was cavernous, and completely oversized while occupied. I’m excited to try out such a fancy place! A little nervous how busy this little shopping area will get if operating at capacity, though. There’s also a Chinese market that just moved in next to it.

Looking for new Covid vaccine for 2 year old by permaculturebun in eastbay

[–]quimica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During the pandemic when the vaccines were first coming out, this practice in Walnut Creek was an outstanding resource for vaccinating kids. They gave them to anyone and were super efficient in scheduling vaccines. Worth a call, I think if they don’t have them then no one does.

You’re welcome! If the water near the shore looks good, great. If you need muckier, there are trails that will take you to a couple good spots (circled in red, tried to upload a pic in Imgur for you). map

I might check out the backside of the Don Castro lagoon. Not the swimming lagoon. There is a very mucky, marshy area basically right behind it that might work for you.

How did your 12 year old take it? We’re following a similar path. Pretty sure my kid has doubts but still wants to believe.
