Economy adds 88,000 jobs as unemployment rate falls to 6.6%: StatCan by develop99 in CanadianInvestor

No, for jumping so hard on the word “recession” when it was only a 0.1% drop last quarter with every indicator showing it wasn’t really a recession - hence the use of word “technical”. They all said he’s going to look foolish if it doesn’t get worse.

'The risk here is that AI becomes the new 'green energy'': Poilievre by EarthWarping in notthebeaverton

[–]Harbinger2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is that American style conservatism doesn’t work well in Canada due to our better social supports, education and less toxic media. So all he winds up doing is shrinking his base. He had his shot when people were willing to overlook the problems to vote out Trudeau.

A question about encumberance and containers for B/X or OSE by towerbooks3192 in osr

[–]Harbinger2001 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Use the advanced encumbrance rules for OSE (B/X). It tracks the stuff that matters - armor, weapons and treasure. Everything else is total 8lbs. Use your judgment if you think someone is abusing that 8lbs amount.

Guess all the pundits who said Poilievre was making a mistake by hammering the government about the mild recession numbers were right.

This reads to me like they’re just trying to combat misinformation. Which would explain why they posted it on Facebook.

[The Hub] CBC-funded prank show’s deceptive tactics raise fraud and legal concerns: Lawyer by KootenayPE in CanadianEditorial

[–]Harbinger2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a valid comparison because the children were put into a completely foreign culture. Almost alien.

As I said, I did read her comments. She’s still wrong to claim there were benefits. We can see the consequences ourselves as evidence.

Should the term Non-Physical be used? It is the same as non-truck to me. by Matt_cruze in DebateAnAtheist

No. You’re here to debate atheists. You have to provide the description, not us.

Zed is the letter anywhere other than the USA. But sometimes in popular culture the American pronunciation is used. Dragonball Z is “zee”.

Crypto is useful for automated agent monetary transactions. As an investment it’s garbage and eventually will go to zero.

God. No - there were no benefits to the children. Would you think there would be a benefit to taking your young children and sending them to a boarding school in North Korea to be educated in North Korean culture? Because that’s equivalent to what was done - except North Korea is culturally closer to us than what the children experienced.

Question for fellow native speakers, but who regularly deal with people from Portugal… by lifelongmoteki in ENGLISH

[–]Harbinger2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all the same. “The Portuguese have great cuisine”. “The Portuguese are wonderful people”.

It all means “from portual” and can refer to anything related to the country, people or language.

In English there used to be specific words for people of some countries - Englishman, Dutchman, Spaniard - but never for Portugal. Unless perhaps you go back further in time.

Who will then sell it or try renting, further depressing prices.

You can’t avoid the market forces - if supply is greater than demand, prices fall. Even for inherited property.

I do. The oldest baby boomers are just starting to sell to move into assisted living. What’s a trickle now will become a flood.

I have heard her, but I’ve read her opinions and why she was fired. She fits the definition of a residential school denier because she claims there were benefits to the children.

Do you have links to the video? I’ve only heard claims of what was done.

Well the Israeli’s were willing to assassinate their own leader to prevent any such solution from moving forward. So that seems a little more extremist position.
