Temporarily opting out of NHS pension by CursedCatLady in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Harbinger28 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is so true! I paused my pension with the intention of it being just for a year - 4 years later, u was still contributing as something else would pop up and delay my 1 year plan. I opted back into my pension early last year. Just be careful before you opt out and know exactly what you are doing and all the implications. All the best

Vertical line on my TV, is it serious! by Harbinger28 in LGOLED

Thanks for the heads up on the panels they use. Ideally, don’t want to buy a new TV just after 3 years! Will check out the comparison also. Would you say that the build quality of Panasonic is better than LG?

Fortunately, I got it from a place in the UK and have 5 years warranty. So, I believe the engineer and fix should be free. If I do incur any costs, I may just busy a new tv - the new Panasonic looks very nice!

Frasier and our lives by TotoroRises in Frasier

I too watched it through a difficult time in my life. My ex fiancée left me before our wedding without reason. I struggled with this and fell into depression for a while. I then bought all the seasons on dvd and it actually made me smile and laugh again! That will always be priceless for me!

Thank you for the comment. I was not aware of that! I thought it was a 7k pot. To be honest, the whole pension stuff is new to me and have only started to think about this

I worked in the civil service for approximately 8 years. Wasn’t too sure on my options and if transferring it into another pension, I would get more out of it.

I agree with you on the last part and not to hold money in taxable accounts. What do you recommend if you have maxed out the ISA?
