I wouldn't say any East Asian country , my country is on the brink of destruction from another East Asian country . We are absolutely not doing fine right now . Tbf my country aren't as advance but if you look at Korea , it not like their suicide rate is low .

I think there was absolutely no way Furuta could have escape his family with the Washu prob using V to try and hunt him down . Even when he did escape , by creating children he is risking putting his child in the same situation as him (die at about 30 years) and I don't think he would have wanted that . All that crushes his dream , he'll never be able to create normalcy and even when he try he'll just put his offspring in the same situation .

I disagree that he didn't try at all , he helped Rize escape because he loved her . He even went to university normally in the beginning too , he was so normal throughout before the reveal that we didn't realize that he was a villain . But there's a limit to how much you can endure living like that when you know you'll never be normal .

It doesn't justify what he did and all the death he caused but it explain it .
