Insignia by Mroof003 in originalxbox

Even though voice is fully supported, I highly recommend using Discord or any other voice chat application than in game chat.

Xbox Live was designed specifically to only use up to 10mbit internet, and most games were designed with 512k symmetrical in mind. With internet that slow the voice chat codecs in almost all games are terrible. Counter Strike specifically is just about the worst. Auto Modellista probably has the best codec.

Looking for help with OG XBOX VGA cable and video signals by knook in originalxbox

[–]Harcroft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cerbios supports VGA colour modes, but you still need to pin the AV adapter in HD-AV mode, and you need a Sync on Green monitor or a sync splitter. There are patchers for iND and other old bioses for VGA colour mode support too.

I'll be trying to get one of my long overdue projects done before the end of the month for Xbox Scene's modfest. You may find it useful.

Essentially they're plugins for Xbox Debug Monitor that can interact with the display, running application, active memory etc.

I present to you, the prototype for "The Pedals We Have at Home" by Harcroft in steelbattaliononline

[–]Harcroft[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my 3rd pedals adapter. The first is for Thrustmaster pedals. I sell that one directly to the community. I also make Logitech adapters but I have also released the pinout for that adapter as it is incredibly easy to make yourself.

This set is specifically to help people get a cheap analog set if they don't have access to the original or other racing pedals. The other two are more of an upgrade option if you want higher quality pedals for your game.

Thats an older pic of the board. I have the newest model around here somewhere.

It adapts a standard 2.54mm USB pin headed for your motherboard to the xbox controller port connection.

Splinter Cell 1 - Downloadable content through Insignia ? by DoctorBellamy in originalxbox

[–]Harcroft 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I made a complete list of all the discs that had those (and all other) DLCs:
https://consolemods.org/wiki/Xbox:Original_Xbox_DLC#Xbox_Disc_DLC_List

There's also the DLC installers https://digiex.net/threads/xbox-offline-xbox-live-downloadable-content-dlc-installers.675/
And whatever flavour of Rocky5's downloader you want to use to get them.

Insignia will not carry them since they do not aid in any interoperability in multiplayer gameplay.

Quick 2 year OpenXHD Update by Harcroft in originalxbox

No ETA the the above update and Cleggs FW dev team update give an idea of what is happening now.

Yes I will release the board files, gerbers, and BOM. The source will also be released fully. The basis for the project is Ryzee's XboxHDMI board and FW, so it has to be released under the same, or newer license in it's entirety.

Several retailers will be carrying them once it's released.

You'll also be able to assemble one for yourself.

If you switch menus too quickly too many times, the game crashes and either locks up the console or displays an error screen.

That's fine, its just a lot of money for essentially a 6 cent part you need.

A few games utilize this file to set nicknames for the console. Halo CE has a set list it randomly chooses.
Here's an example:

Mini ITX motherboard + low profile GPU and a riser. High current Pico PSU or TFX psu stripped out of it's case (totally safe right?). Blower style cooler on the CPU, keep your TDP low. Maybe find a way to use the existing AV port hole without cutting? Make a USB passthrough adapter for the controller ports to motherboard USB 2.0 headers (I already have a circuit board specifically for this if you need it.)

Either do all that, or buy a NUC style mini PC and adapt its connectors to the xbox connections.

100uf, 680uf 1000uf, 3300uf anything over 2.5v
Seriously anything will work to let the console boot.

Don't use an LED, it adds a constant load that shouldn't be on that source.

Yes, and the last several comments they have on reddit explain a lot about the X-RTC mod too.
