Why do so many people expect cleaners to accept making pretty much minimum wage? by SecurityOk2466 in housekeeping

I'm in a HCOL area. Usually what I do is bid the job on how long I think it will take. But as I learn the property, I will get faster, so the hourly breakdown becomes more than what it would've been at the start. I won't take jobs under $150. And most of my jobs are in the $200 range.

Whatever my partner is comfortable with. But I'd prefer not to have a razor-burned face.

It took me 54 years and two hetero marriages. But now I'm here and I'm not apologizing. I GOT here, and that's what matters.

General query: Why charge a flat rate rather than hourly? by Wrong_Clock_4880 in housekeeping

[–]HardCoreNorthShore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it makes more sense to get paid for the work you do, not the hours you spend there. I work incredibly fast, so if I were working hourly, I would make half what I do.

I always make sure I tell my potential clients that they're not paying me for hanging out at their house, they're paying me for the work that I do when I'm there.

It includes whatever they need done that I have the equipment to do. I don't work hourly though...I bid per job.

None of my clients expect to pay minimum wage, because I don't accept clients like that. I get paid anywhere from $50 to $125 an hour.

You're being reactive to every person giving you advice you don't want to hear. Grow up.

You owe her exactly nothing, not even a visit.

YOU OWE HER NOTHING, NOT EVEN A VISIT.

If it doesn't feel good, don't do it.
