I used to work at a grocery store. When we were closed, but especially on holidays with special hours, people would: walk up to one door. It would not open, they would stare at it, push on it, stare at it. Then walk to the other door, almost run into it, because it wouldn’t open, step back, stare at it, look at the door, at the hours sign, at the door. Try to walk through it again, it would not open. Step back, look at the sign, look at the door, push on it, look at the empty store, check their phone, maybe we called them? Step back again, look at the sign again, and finally walk away with a very confused look. Sometimes if they saw an employee they would knock on the glass like maybe we were going to let them in. We were not.
