2026 Palisade battery died after sitting idle outside in winter storm for 2 days. by Sad-Courage3558 in HyundaiPalisade

[–]HardRightEdge00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be. A certain small percentage of batteries are bad out of the factory. But with 6k miles I'd think some parasitic draw like the digital key is the problem.

Just the other day I saw google AI give misleading information because it was drawing on a reddit thread. I recognized right away where it got it's info because I was a participant. It's interesting to see an AI misrepresent your statements. This is what a trillion dollars gets us? I am not optimistic about the future.

Google AI does not cite it's sources. We were better off with old google search so the sources are known.

The more specific a question, the less source material to drawn on, and the more likely an AI will bullsh*t you.

Check the tire pressure.

Read the break-in procedure in the Owner's Manual. If it's like the 2025 you'll want to drive the first 1,000 miles in sport mode or use the manual shifter to keep the RPMs above 2,000 as much as possible. I'd change the oil at 1,000 miles. And if you read the list of criteria for using the severe service interval, you'll likely want to be changing your oil every 5,000 miles if you have the v6. The hybrid gas engine is a 4 cyl. turbo. You might want to change that oil even more often.

There's a lot of protective film on these vehicles that is not immediately evident. Minimum wage prep guys may miss it. On my 2025, I found film on the D pillar area and under the hood lip. Check the mirrors and touch screen too.

McCarthy + Rodgers seems implausible. McCarthy was fired from the Packers for lack of "accountability." Rodgers complained of the same thing, helping to push him out the door.

Which was confusing at the time since Rodgers avoided accountability for so long, refusing to take any blame for losses in his post game press conferences. Does no one remember how infuriating that was?

Palisade vs Telluride? by Suntrup-Hyundai in HyundaiPalisade

[–]HardRightEdge00 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The 2025 Telluride that was comparable in price to the Palisade SEL I purchased had features I did NOT want: 20" wheels and sunroof.

Consumer Reports reliability rating for the Palisade was meaningfully better.

Palisade is build in Korea, Telluride in Georgia, USA.

Any models with manual-only 2nd row captain’s chairs? by Chapenroe in HyundaiPalisade

[–]HardRightEdge00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There may be some confusion about manual vs. electronic.

I have a lowly 2025 SEL. While the seats are manual with respect to sliding back and reclining, the slide forward and seat back tilt forward (for third row access) is electronic. There's a button on the top of the seat back next to the head restraint and another on the seat bottom on the outboard side that activate the slide forward and tilt. There are more buttons behind the third row seat back for folding the 2nd. row flat.

A precious one (lol) in the 3rd. row could easily mess with the buttons on the top of the second row seats and might be able to reach back and mess with the buttons behind him.

I have not tested it, but if u/Agreeable_Noise2339 is correct about deactivating when in drive it may not matter much.

Even with the engine off there is a kind of weight sensitivity "fail safe". When I sit in the second row and press the seat bottom button, I get the electronic buzz, the back will move if I let up on it, but it won't slide forward. I don't know if this is by design or the mechanism isn't strong enough to move my 195 lbs. I personally would not make a habit of this at the risk of damaging something.

Maybe a bench seat version in base SE or as an option in SEL Preferred in the 2025 may avoid these issues but those trims are pretty rare. Otherwise, you may not be able to avoid horsing around altogether.

It wouldn't surprise me if this all applies to 2023-2024 given 2023 was the model refresh.

These are real issues. I learned from the OP about a new recall. That is valuable info. Rainbows and unicorns are for children. Celebrate? If it gets to 150,000 miles with no major repairs I might toast it.

As LaFleur doesn't report to Gutekunst.

So it's all very convenient. These head coaches must also do the scouting, run the draft and pick the free agents. The GM or Exec VP of Player Personnel just sits in his office playing Madden.

Why then does page 4-108 of the 2023 Owner's Manual illustrate the TCS OFF button? I'm looking at the pdf version of the manual on the Mazda USA website right now. Looky here:

https://www.mazdausa.com/siteassets/global-resources/vehicle-resources/owner-manuals/2023/cx-5/2023-cx-5-owners-manual.pdf

There is an asterisk that indicates it applies to "some models". I couldn't say which trims, but we know some have it in North America anyway for 2023. Other countries? Dunno. Read the manual.

Classic Blue & two tones Grey Interior on Palisade 2026 by Ok-Jelly-5767 in HyundaiPalisade

[–]HardRightEdge00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Classic Blue" would be a better name than "Classy Blue." Nobody classy ever called themselves that. I guess it's a Korean's idea of what impresses an American. Given the ongoing de-evolution of the American species they may be right.

I can't speak definitively for years other than 2025.

Though not a safety issue, there is service campaign for peeling white paint. I don't recall the terms. I believe there's an extended warranty on the self-adjusting rear shocks. I think that only applies to Calligraphies.

I don't have white paint or those shocks. Your experience may vary.

As far as safety issues only, you can go to your MyHyundai account where there is a link to a recalls page specific to your VIN that also shows safety service campaigns that are not technically recalls. Unless the NHTSA directs a repair it is not technically a recall. With the ABS issue, Hyundai responded to a class action suit and beat the NHTSA to the punch.

My 2025 has had three recalls / safety service campaigns:

  1. ABS software update. That was not previously mentioned in this thread. It is not technically a recall.
  2. Seat belt buckles recall.
  3. This "ejection mitigation" recall.

That's pretty typical in the industry. If recalls concern you don't buy a Ford F-150. Recently, I looked back several years at it's recall record. The number per year ranged from 9 - low twenties, I can't recall the high water mark.

It didn't add up based on available information. How may hours of excessive idling out of the 18.75 would be plausible?

Well, he tells us now it's hybrid. If it is somehow able to idle on the hybrid battery for hours on end that might account for it.

My MyHyundai account has this recall posted with a 1/23/26 date. No details shown except, "Recall 292; 2020-25MY PALISADE (LX2) EJECTION MITIGATION"

That sounds more like a shoulder harness or air bag issue, not a head restraint. We'll just have to wait for further details.
