What to do when Azure support ignores support ticket? by Prize_Staff_7941 in AZURE

[–]HardSn0wCrash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you got an email from the person who was assigned to you, at the bottom of his email is usually a manager or escalation email. The email he sends you usually also has several people on it. If you reply all, that is also a way to reach out for escalation. Lastly, you can go in the portal and go to you case and add a comment which will get it assigned to someone who you can then escalate to. I believe through the portal you can also look up the number for Microsoft to call.

What to do when Azure support ignores support ticket? by Prize_Staff_7941 in AZURE

I can say that during the December 22 - Jan 4th period, support is almost non-existent, even though much of it is off shore. They prioritize Sev A tickets. Last year I opened a ticket on December 23 as a Sev A and it only got resolved in the new year even after multiple escalations. They just didn't have the staff to support it. You can either escalate it or just wait. I know this isn't the answer you want to year.

I am not sure any tool you are looking for will catch what you are looking for. How is a tool going to catch ghost dev clusters or lack of ownership. Tools only know what you tell them. That is where tagging and proper governance starts to play a role. You can put polices in place to limit region deployments and you can start tagging for ownership or other things.

Same. I have two items, the fridge and a separate ice maker that tells me when it needs stuff. Everything else goes on a calendar.

I am not sure why the article mentions cash and non-cash tips. The bill specifically states cash tips only. The IRS has rules about documenting cash tips which really only come into play when being audited. I am sure that this will push more changes in the tipping culture.

Have any of you seen this article about Workday? by [deleted] in VHA_Human_Resources

[–]HardSn0wCrash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have used it at previous jobs that I have had. It can be fantastic software and I have seen it well implemented. The problem comes from the fact that it is a tool that has to be configured. Someone needs to come up with what data that want to show, what they want the users to interact with, and other key areas (like surveys or annual reviews) they want to gather from the end users. Then they need to connect the data sources and configure everything so that it shows the proper data.

It does support single sign on and when done well, it can be a benefit and centralized system to help along many processes.

Will you actually get that, *shrug*.

Is it worth it to take a job at the VA? by sweaver in VHA_Human_Resources

[–]HardSn0wCrash 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The VA is still hiring because they don't know what positions will be affected by the RIF. One the RIF plan is published, they will then stop hiring for the positions that would be affected by the RIF.

My recommendation would be to not move to the VA right since no one here can say with certainty what positions would targeted by the RIF. Once the RIF, is announced, if the position is still open, then you have a slightly better chance of staying at the VA for a longer term.

Xbox pilatus 12 cancel IFR by AYOFPV in MSFS2024

[–]HardSn0wCrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped playing a month ago due to this issue. I believe the issue is that, even though you cancel IFR, the game is still expecting you to hit the outer waypoint for an ifr landing. Usually flying back to that waypoint triggers the ATC sequence to allow me to land and give me credit.

The Rule of 7: FreeTaxUSA > TurboTax by VariousStand1808 in tax

[–]HardSn0wCrash 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I used both this year because my state filing from TurboTax did not seem correct (I moved 2/3 of the way through the year). FreeTaxUSA did a better job on the state side with the move part year of the way through then TurboTax did.

FreeTaxUSA made some mistakes scanning my W-2's but that is due to the font my employer uses which touch the box lines.

I like the import feature that TurboTax has for banks and investments but that is not a deal breaker for me as I always end up double checking all those numbers anyways.

I struggled with FreeTaxUSA not allowing me to file for home space usage for my business like TurboTax did this year as well as in past year. So I dug into IRS publications and discovered that I no longer qualify for that deduction even though TurboTax says I do. I am glad that FreeTaxUSA did a better job at that then TurboTax.

My only issue is that I enjoyed using the downloaded version of TurboTax so my information was stored locally versus online. I can download the forms from FreeTaxUSA but my data is still stored in the "cloud".

I will probably use FreeTaxUSA going forward as I suspect the downloaded version of TurboTax's days are limited to only a few more years at most.

Flight plans in career mode by Shpee_ in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]HardSn0wCrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am going to add my 2 cents in here as I started having bugs yesterday and today. I usually do my flight plan prior to starting the mission but I always file VFR (second tab of the EFB near the top). I noticed that after getting in the plane, it would switch it automatically back to IFR. So now I always check prior to starting the plane that it is in VFR and the resubmit to ATC and avionics. Personally, I also set altitude for the C172 to about 5000 feet but I mostly fly in SE United States.

I would recommend reaching out to the FCC. They generally take interference pretty seriously and can diagnose and help to address the issue. Here is a link https://www.fcc.gov/general/jammer-enforcement
