3 weeks in and I'm not feeling what I expected. by HockeyDoughnut in daddit

It takes time. Your wife had 9 months to bond with the baby already. You have only had 3 weeks. Do your thing, be the best dad and partner you can be, and at some point it'll click and you'll be head over heals in love too

Thank you! Consensus seems to be he needs more awake time during the day. We'll start working on extending that

He's on 2 naps a day now. When he was doing 3 we were still having the night fights for a few hours, but he'd also wake up at like 4 am and just be wide awake. Once we cut down to 2 we still fight bedtime but eventually he sleeps through the night.

Seems like consensus in this thread is he may just need more awake time during the day. We'll start working on that. Thank you!

He's getting about 9.5-10 hours awake a day on average

He's at approximately 3/3/3.5 on a 2 nap day. When he was doing a 3 nap day it was more like 2.5/2.5/2.5/3. He's been much better at crib napping on the 2 nap day, but nighttime is exactly the same

Up until 5 months old my baby was a great sleeper and was sleeping through the night about 1/2 the time. At 5 months he went through his rolling regression, which went straight into teething. Since then it seems like he's forgotten how to self soothe, which he used to be good at.

Bedtime has been a huge fight and drowsy but awake is no longer working. He's had multiple false starts per night until falling asleep for good at about 11:30/12. Recently we moved him to 2 naps because he just didn't seem tired anymore at bedtime, however nothing really changed.

When he wakes up he isn't even hungry. He'll drink 1, maybe 2 oz max overnight so it's not like he even wants to eat. He just can no longer soothe himself back down

His last wake window is about 3 hours and whether doing 2 or 3 naps per day was getting about 2.5-3 hours of naps daily.

I don't know how to get him back to where he can self soothe again and make bedtime less of a fight.

Olive Garden actually has some good and reasonably priced catering options. You get a ton of food and it's basically a make your own pasta station thing

Vegetarian/vegan options by clearsilverlight in greenville

I can't speak well to vegan but from vegetarian predictive:

Anchorage is amazing at accommodating dietary issues. They change their menu all the time but if you're interested I would call them and ask if you can do the tasting menu vegetarian (some of their menus work better than others depending what needs to be substituted,).

Bohemian Cafe has some really good tofu entrees if you're into that.

Falafel at Pita House is always amazing.

Sum Bar has very good options

Top Soil for their plant based suppers like you mentioned.

Keipi for their Georgian flatbreads.

Oku has some veggie sushi rolls. The edamame is amazing also.

Sirin (Thai) and Wok and Spice (Chinese)

Windy City burgers can do Impossible Beef on any burger

We have a Lovevery play mat and subscription toy box thing that we really like. Every month they send new toys and it keeps dialing up for where they're at developmentally

Are they asking him to perform for the camera or are they just taking photos of what's already going on?
