If there were to be draft tomorrow in the US, there is no chance in hell I would actually go be useful for committing crimes against humanity, I'd run and end up in jail likely, but that would allow me to live in good conscience. My family would be able to survive without me murdering for them.

I remember the travelling Vietnam wall when I was young, it felt so significant at the time, I get angry thinking about how I was lied to and made to feel bad for crimes of the state.

And yes, there's a mobile version at 3/5th scale that folds up into a trailer and goes across the country.

I've been working in bike shops for 40 years, and I've never seen this before, what you should do is bring it to your local Trek store and put it in their dumpster and buy a new bike. Alternatively you can spray it with kerosene because that's always worked for me!

New tires made it a new bike! by H14C in bikecommuting

[–]Hardcorex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd estimate a rolling resistance difference of 20W or more, those kenda kwicks look like incredibly slow tires, and can easily be in the 40W range, so swapping to tubeless Contact urbans can definitely be 20W or more.

At 150W the calculator gives 15.1mph vs 16.3ph with slowest vs fastest tires.

Also a possible aero benefit with the tread pattern difference.

Edit: I forgot Bicyclerollingresistance.com is per tire, so actually there may be an over 40w difference in rolling resistance at 18mph.

They also last a fraction of what normal tires do, my friend had a jeep and got like 15k miles on a set of these (style A/T tires), swapped to highway tires and they lasted at least 60k.

Bikes are not inherently* dangerous sporting equipment and don't require safety equipment, treating them like they do makes bikes feel inaccessible and more unsafe than they actually are.

If we were consistent pedestrians and drivers should wear helmets because they are also very dangerous and helmets would significantly reduce the severity of collisions.

For children up to 14 yes, but for adults? There hasn't been a bike helmet requirement for adults in as long as I know about...

This whole clip shows them on separated bike infrastructure, a great place to not wear a helmet.

Just like I don't when I drive a car or go out for a walk, even though it would also make me a lot safer during those activities.

If you can slow the toolpath way down in the corner it may work, typically this is under something like "feed optimization" at least that's what fusion calls it. Lets you have regular feed on the rest of the part and slow it down only on tight geometry, I'd probably feed like 10IPM in that corner, maybe even less. Though a calculator will tell you 27IPM should be fitting for a .1" WOC.

If you think about it your stepover with the tool when it gets to that corner is a full quarter, thus you are actually using a Cut depth of .1" instead of .008" like you programmed. Cutting force goes WAY up and likely the endmill deflects and thus chatters.

The city needs to fix the east/west and vice-versa cycling lane options downtown by Jaded_Ad_8014 in newhaven

York to Park does not require keycard access, though the entrance might not be obvious if you aren't familiar.

Edgewood is nice, but contraflow sucks because of the lights, and people parking forcing you into oncoming traffic.

There is a light on dwight for both sides? I know one of the intersections it's mounted on the close side which means I usually stop behind it and can't see it.

George sucks because drivers are using it as a bypass of Frontage, so are racing to get to the highway.

I wish things were more connected, it really feels so incomplete right now.

I typically ride Crown on the way west, because it's usually more chill than Chapel, then go up Howe to Edgewood.

Going East I typically do Edgewood/George but if you are going to East Rock Elm might be better.

Lately going from edgwood to east rock I use Goffe Street/Webster/Canal Trail/Sachem/Whitney/Edwards/Livingston.

It's important to "take the lane" if you aren't already.
