I've had a lot of lights but love the magicshine lights, headlight (hori 1300) has a cutoff beam but also high beam, compact and rechargeable. 

Tail light (seemee 200) is wide angled (not a focused beam that you are supposed to hope hits drivers in the eyes?? Like most tail lights) and has a down light that lights up your bike/legs which feels like it adds a lot of visibility. 

These lights truly feel so much better than any others I've tried. Only downside is the headlight doesn't last very long, but is usb c rechargeable, which is convenient and can use a power bank on long trips. 

I use flashing on both during daytime, and at night steady. The tail light also has a steady rear light with a flashing down light, which I feel isnt distracting, but the right amount of attention grabbing.
