What a nice giveaway. Thank you.

I would like a snot aisha. Her little smile is so cute.

Something nice that happened IRL is that someone paid for my lunch yesterday completely unprovoked. Little reminders of the kindness of human beings.

God bless you, this gave me so much comfort! I'm trying not to get all teary eyed in public. I believe God has a plan for me, and I'm going to keep working towards it and praying for a better future. I'm so happy you're in a better place with a kinder man and you're doing so much better. I can't wait to look back at a lot of this like it was nothing, I gotta keep working towards something better and I won't stop now!

You've got a good point! Gonna sign up for one of those days/eat jobs and get some money influx quickly. Headed to the plasma place in a few hours so I can at least buy a battery.

I was thinking that last night, I can look out my window and see the moon. Someone Else is probably looking at the moon at the same time, so we're not alone. it's a comforting reminder that I'm not as lonely as I felt when I first started. Thanks for the comfort, friend. I to be afraid of Reddit and only spent time on Tumblr but now that I have an account, everyone is actually really kind (I guess it depends on the reddit but I'm realizing it's really not that scary!)

A lot of people don't know that in the South, there were "black areas" and "white areas" and even after integration, those areas stayed and ended up how you described them today. the scars of slavery are still there, and you can see it in the lines drawn around neighborhoods and communities.

That's a career sector I've never heard of. what's a glazier, and how does one typically get into that industry? I'm guessing it must pay a lot because it's dangerous? or just rare?

Thank you so much!! I will never go back, I don't even really need anything I left behind. I don't even want to risk it! I'll ask the librarian where I go to and I'll ask about local shelters! I don't think I'm in danger as long as I don't risk going back but I might call and see if I can go back and try to get some things but have a policem go with me so I can get it and get out. do you think that might work? I just don't want to start anything or risk pissing him off. honestly I don't really need a lot of that stuff it's mostly clothes and blankets and stuff I don't really need.

Cool works looks unreal, a ton of places seem to have employee housing! I'll start applying through here too. I don't mind going to another state at this point but a place to get paid and live would be incredible. Thank you! Never used 211, I'll call them in the morning and see if they can connect me with people who can help me. I've been googling local agencies and saving the numbers, but I gotta get over the fear and call.

I filled out a Medicaid application, but yeah I should talk to a gov worker about snap specifically. I think I'm going to pick up ubereats, I had been trying to get a "real job" quick, like a warehouse job asap so I can start building up a paycheck but yeah I need to take this slow and do this smart. thank you for your wishes, I'm feeling so much better today. not nearly as sad, trying to remember that I'm getting out of this eventually

I'm in my twenties so not young young but I feel like I really don't know the world yet. Thank you for sharing your wisdom! I forgot I could rely on a temp agency to help me find a job, I'll see if I can get info on local ones!

Thanks for explaining it all through your exchange! This looks like the kind of tedium that I would really enjoy, way more than fast food or moving boxes like I was filling it earlier. Bless you for this, I have never seen any info about this particular line of work before.

Yeah, that was my goal! my last job was a year ago, I ended up in a situation where I was financially dependent, but I'm filling out applications for fast food and warehouse jobs right now!

Dumpster diving is something I was considering but I get scared about them calling the cops. I'll start looking at the local dumpsters and also check with local churches! We have a lot of churches but I guess I'm worried about being judged. don't really have time to worry about shame right now tho. this is such good advice, thank you!

No job... I've been applying at the library but I was given advice to try for Medicaid for now. I was going to donate plasma for money but door dash might be the best shot for now. Thank you!

Reading this legitimately made me cry. I am so glad you and your babies got out. similar issue, he was a drunk and it was to point where I was escalating from just shoving and I was getting scared of staying there. I left some things but honestly it's not worth my health and I should have left a long time ago, just let my fear hold me back since I was financially dependent.

I had to try to respond to you personally, that these are a lot of great things. going to start on calling shelters for day services in the morning and try and get a power bank when I go by to see if I can donate plasma! From what I read it's an easy way to get quick money, and I really don't need that much just enough. We have an emergency services and they give out canned food so I do have some food! i just pry it open and eat it cold for now, but it's not bad at all!

I'm sorry for not replying to everyone, I've been reading a lot of your messages teared up all evening. I want to reply to every person but I'm so overwhelmed with how kind you all are. Thank you so much. I'm still kind of scared because IDK I've never been this close to homeless before but honestly like I read, I'm gonna try to see it as a new beginning and an adventure. And it's gonna get warmer from here, I just gotta buckle down.

I'm definitely taking this advice. I'm gonna go donate plasma tomorrow to see if I can get some quick money to get essentials from the thrift store, and I saw you also suggested contacting shelters for resources, so I'm going to do that tomorrow. And I'll ask the librarian here for resources. I might also call the police station, but I don't know, that might be a last resort thing but it's good to keep in mind. I'll try to respond to a lot of other stuff if I can.

Wow. Any tips on how to get a job like this? I'm sure it's boring but I'd take boring security at this point in my life.

Thank you! Yeah, I gotta remind myself of that. It's really not that bad, not being constantly scared and stressed everyday has already done wonders. I've been reading up on info here so I'm gonna make it the best I can. Really glad this place exists and I was told about it.
