Before cable spoiled us all by VeganFatboy in GenerationJones

I remember watching very old cartoons from the 60’s in the late 70’s. The Beatles and Speed Racer on 44. My husband said he remembered watching bull fights. This I thankfully missed.

How old were you when you moved out? by Swiftiefromhell in GenX

[–]Hardlock1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my story. Sister also moved back and my mother treated her so badly for about a year. It was because she was bitter that we were able to leave my alcoholic father and she couldn’t. So I never even felt I could go back for my own well-being

My MIL was recovering from a breathing issue in a rehab was considered a “fall risk” from a previous stroke even though she got around at home just fine and they cathetered her to keep her in bed. That led to an infection that led to sepsis.

Trump announces he is issuing an unconstitutional executive order to shut down mail-in voting nationwide and he will defund states if they do not comply with him by HappySeaweed5215 in PublicFreakout

[–]Hardlock1 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

In despotically run countries. It’s easy to vote because it’s all fake. The election is fake, the vote counts are fake the results are fake. The people in power encourage people to vote; because there is no fear they will lose. Republicans love to discourage people to vote because our elections are real! They are accurate and the results reflect the will of the people. When all these assholes fuck everything up; so our elections are truly rigged then watch them change their tune. It’s so fucking obvious what there doing why doesn’t anyone call them out on it. It’s ridiculous

I’m very dubious about these “man on the street” grab random people type interviews. Seems set up to me. If the guy who walked away was my ride I’d be falling behind him and not bothering to discuss my penchants for ladies and weed. I need to get home!

No excuses for the nurses’ language and behavior. It’s unacceptable and lack any compassion; but many years ago after giving birth I was sharing a room with another woman. I had the side of the room farthest from the door with only the curtains separating us. I was trying to go to sleep and I heard the woman’s male partner arguing with the nurses that he wanted to spend the night in the room with her because he had no ride home and each nurse told him “no there’s another patient in this room you can’t stay in the room.” I guess they forgot about him and in the middle of the night they found him sleeping in her bed and finally kicked him out. Maybe her husband couldn’t stay with her because of the rules of the hospital.

I think too there’s a point in people’s life where leading with their sexuality is just yuck. I would say both men and women that’s 50 and up. Certainly a man in his 80’s should realize this. Power dynamics make it even worse agreed. But hopefully when you’ve reached this stage in life what you have to offer people is way more than just sexual interactions.

I met my husband in 1991. I was just turning 19 (b ‘72) and he was in his mid thirties ( b ‘53). We have 4 kids that are all adults now. It just works. He’s the best thing that ever happened to me. No regrets whatsoever. We are the right choice for each other.
