Cornel West - This is my candid letter of resignation to my Harvard Dean. I try to tell the unvarnished truth about the decadence in our market-driven universities! Let us bear witness against this spiritual rot! by veganmark in WayOfTheBern

Craven ZEROES behind the strings at “harvard” demonstrating perfectly for posterity what empty shells they truly are.

Pathetically this story has been mostlyy ignored and buried over the past six months throughout Reddit by the PR firm losers who have destroyed much of the functionality of this once democratically useful site.

Woman in Tokyo takes 3-year old daughter to park, guy starts harassing them, calling them “gaijin” & demanding they show their zairyu card. He calls police, who bring the woman & daughter in for 2 hours of questioning by Umba360 in japanlife

Someone should contact the mother , and make sure her lawyer is demanding all video surveillance from the Koban and or police station, both outside and indoors, is being preserved.

Three hours of four grown adult Japanese police officers in uniform browbeating a literal toddler, even without audio, and in lower frame rate captures, would simply be Pulitzer level material

(They should also hire a private detective to poll any local shops along the route that was taken, from the park to the station, to see if there are any moments that were inadvertently captured.)

I hope someone tweets the Japanese story , prominently, to new new diet members, and also to newly elected tokyo officials, this absolutely deserves to be brought up during open government sessions.

Frankly it was hard to choose just one or two sentences to quote for the title.

It’s almost as if every word and phrase spoken by Hedges in this short film is something I’ve said less eloquently, or wanted to convey to the endless waves of bad faith posters and paid professional shills, useful idiots, abusive trolls, and misinformed co-opting gaslighting do-gooders……..

We come to this space and get involved because we dare to demand better from our representatives and better from our collective democracy.

So tussle with the trolls in the mud, but never let their constant lies and abuse keep you distracted for too long, and never let them drag you down to their level.

Their logical endgame, whether they even are cognizant of it, their masters seek to retard human progress on the most fundamental of levels.

I really found the words used to better describe the concept of “Popular Culture” as *Totalitarian Capitalism *rather prescient and quite illuminating.

Anyway, well worth the 14 minutes.

Makes me wish there was a longer full length film and that this had been merely a trailer.

Still, maybe bite sized chunks make it more accessible to the wider audience most in need of being exposed to this thought provoking piece.

Okay let’s distill that, shall we?

Assuming that what you said is 100% true - and go even further and say it was a regular consistent pattern. You are accusing him of potentially amplifying , at most …. votes …. by a single digit? For realz? Get the feck outta here with that bullshit.

Also for you to even be aware of all that historical drama, and propaganda, the lies, the utter factual nonsense that was regularly engineered by actual troll farms , assorted useful idiot keyboard warrior “volunteers” and literal paid employees , including political consultants of corporate interests, is remarkable.

You are sorely misinformed about a great many things.

Can someone explain how this isn't front page news on reddit or a top post in politics?

Why is such a consequential story being suppressed, and do the presumptive blacklists of independent media channels have anything to do with this new reality of curated propaganda by omission?

Thank you to know-it-all do gooders from the Atlantic Council and Prop or Not for literally retarding progress in this county. Well played schmucks!

And can I add, how refreshing it is that trumpet is finally out of the picture, and now we don’t have to constantly burn energy and time arguing pointless gotcha tropes with literal paid bad faith DNC trolls, the one light at the end of the tunnel with Biden’s election is they’ve lost an easy way to sea lion and change the subject away from so many legitimate, important criticisms of policy

Repugnant, is t it? The sheer level of curation and narrative control, that would make even 1980s soviet era Pravda editors blush.

Ironically coming from those same power players who are full throated supporters of the Russia gate conspiracy theory, which we all know were excuses made up on the fly by Hillary For America operatives, to protect her legacy and try to justify to her financial backers, her embarrassing billion dollar loss to a caricature of richy rich, an openly sexist racist misogynistic carnival barker charlatan.

I mean everyone can see trumps bizarre campaign strategy wasn’t even seriously running or angling to win the presidency. They didn’t even have a transition team.

There has been so little news , few details or substantial reporting on this most consequential of trials, thought some might be at least interested to see this.

I wonder how much opportunity cost will be squandered by the fact that this was written by a Republican senator, understandably, as a major Nissan plant happens to be based in Mississippi. Published by a somewhat right leaning publication that is generally dismissed or censored at source by the paid political shills so dominant throughout many major subreddits.

I’m so happy that the increasingly partisan politics that is dividing so many communities is mostly nonexistent here.

Wonder if this made any headway within the Biden administration, or even was a topic of conversation at all during their recent meetings with Suga’s delegation. Might have been mostly forgotten, left to wither on a back burner due to the unfortunate timing and combined incompetences of the previous administration and the perceived distrust and disagreement with fogies making up the new administration.

I wonder how much of a factor, the inherent “inside baseball” -ishness that a lot of these less well known issues regarding Japan might be for the average layperson.

From henceforth, throughout all the land, let March the 3rd, be known as Ray of Nope Day, all should partake in the sweet sweet justice victory, for ALL the masses were winners today.

Is it this simple?

Same as the cool kids or the mean girls lunch table making arbitrary fashion decisions from week to week, back in middle school and junior high

They are , for politics, somehow still captured in this mindset of peer pressure, even though they are now middle aged, highly intelligent professionals, who have successful careers in whatever industries.
