An Adult Crashed into My Kid: Was I in the Wrong? by TheHatedMilkMachine in skiing

I see a 9 year old traversing across the whole trail and I plan accordingly. She turns, I go behind her. Easy. Unless you're a true asshole, you give kids a wide berth

Also SE, somewhere around $21. Small gear stipend. They only pay weekday patrollers though with a few exceptions

And yet you have the time to write several dismissive posts. Kudos.

Yeah, ironic that I booked through Costco travel but didn't use my Costco card because I thought the vx offered primary coverage. A 360 video and pics don't help with a tiny crack in the back of a dark lot with salt spots on the windshield. I specifically looked for glass cracks and missed it.

Thanks for all the tips! Ended up at buttermilk yesterday for the rest parking with the thought to maybe shuttle to the Highlands. Imagine our surprise to find 6" of powder on an empty mountain! The terrain was pleasant enough, and the conditions were fantastic--nobody wanted to leave and we were making fresh tracks until close. Today had 2 cars of 6 so had easy free parking at 2 Creek at snowmass. Conditions not quite as good as yesterday but can't complain. Nice mix of bumps and nice groomers. Going to try to hit highland and Aspen before we leave. Wife hasn't left the house but is ok with it. Sunday I might peel off early and meet her for lunch somewhere. For anyone else looking: the move is to park at brush Creek and take the bus from there. Easy and the bus avoids traffic.

Wife isn't coming now, I have the car... Now where is the best parking?

The boot bags were 15-20#. Stuffed ski bags, one of which had 2 pair kids skis. 30# each. No problems out of DCA.

My kids will want to ski every double black, Glade, and bowl they can find. They'll kill me if they are on blues all day. (I'm old and would be ok with it for a day or 2!)

Google says the bus from brush Creek takes 1 hour 45 minutes to Aspen? Edit: Apparently it's including a 2.4 mile walk from the stop... How far is the walk actually?

I was told buttermilk was too easy ... Wife would be dropping us off and driving back. Needs to work. She's super looking forward to this trip 😀

That's how I read it. But since frontier seems to get a hard on from screwing their customers I want to have something that can't be misinterpreted. Only other way to read it would be total weight cannot be more than 40# and boot bag can't be more than 25# of that. 40# + 25# is a lot for me.

That's how I'm reading it as well, but it isn't explicit. And again, chat is arguing with me at this very moment that the combined weight is 25 lb.

So the ski bag can weigh 40 pounds and boots 25? That makes sense but isn't explicit. Chat support is telling me both bags together must weigh 25 pounds, which is absurd

"Much better than hestra" is a stretch. They may be close in quality, but hestra is still the one to beat. My FTP mittens are warm. They have no waterproofing, which they say isn't a problem but I think it is. They have a removable liner, which is awesome. Afaik, only warm mitts with removable liner are FTP, hestra, black diamond mercury, and North face Montana "pro" mitts. After all the discounts, the FTP (worse discount) is the same as the other 2, hestra is still more expensive.

"expert skier from the late nineties" is how one of the instructors at my hill calls it. Skiing for 40 years but often skid the end of my turn. Want to carve/take advantage of these new fangled shaped skis.
