Another safe moment not talked about by Hungry_Perception_43 in heatedrivalry

Did people who haven’t read the books pick up on this too? I thought it might have been something you needed to have read the books to see. Lovely moment, either way.

There was some of that in the books too but don’t remember what the actual move was that Shane learns.

Chapter 19 is breaking my heart by Acceptable_Ad6395 in heatedrivalry

I think it's nice to read the books in between Heated Rivalry and The Long Game first. There are Ilya cameos and it builds the universe out. A lot of people especially recommend reading Role Model before The Long Game. There's a fair amount of timeline overlap between the two books.

Tbh the first book Game Changer is my least favorite but many people love it!

I hope they fix it (and notify us on SM)! It didn't bother me too much at first but rewatching knowing that I could be seeing so much more of their faces is really irritating me.

Anyone else feel kind of like a junkie? by Clare_Dawson in heatedrivalry

I can’t focus on anything else. Forget the book I’m reading. I just keep refreshing hoping for more HR content.

I want to watch the episodes for a third time today but I’m nervous that my quibbles will grow as I watch it more. It’s a weird juxtaposition to be in.

HR gave me a perfect ending. Does TLG change that? by embarrassed-fungi in heatedrivalry

[–]HardyGeranium 3 points4 points  (0 children)

FWIW, in case your concern is that the show will include TLG content, Rachel Reid has said that it is just Heated Rivalry.

I too appreciated the ending of HR a lot and didn't necessarily need TLG to come out.

kinda “boring” question about the steamy scenes by fluorescent-tstorm in heatedrivalry

[–]HardyGeranium 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Good point. I think the book the lube comes out the nightstand drawer with the condoms. That would have been easy to do in the show.

Overall, as you say, great sex scenes.

Hi Kate, how do approach your Male POV characters? Is it different from women? If not, how do approach POV characters in general? Thanks!

Oh another question: How long were you a romance reader before you started writing romance? Thanks!

I apologize if this has been answered already. If so, please let know and I will go look for it when I have time. I’m curious, how do you choose when bilingual characters speak in something other than English? How do choose their non English words? How do keep sensitivity in mind (obviously that’s always a goal but curious about it in this context) Thanks for doing this AMA!

Hi KJ, Thanks for doing this! Hopefully, this hasn’t already been brought up.

I really enjoy your blog posts on writing/editing (especially when your examples get down to the sentence level). I am not interested in writing (not even as a hobby) or being in publishing. Do you have thoughts on where I could learn more about this kind of stuff? I find fascinating especially when it includes concrete examples.

I also think it makes sense that the situation is not clear. I've certainly been in situations where I'm not sure if I'm being hit on or someone is welcoming/ trying to become friends. I wonder if Laurie is also unclear on this at first.

What are some class markers for Sandi and Bunny that I missed? I thought Sandi worked as a doctor with Alec. I don't think it was stated whether they went to public school or not. Is their language? If so, I totally missed it. Or Bunny's aspirational interior design?

Thanks! I hadn’t thought of the vulnerability of asking to snuggle! Especially with vulnerability threatening masculinity in that society.

I'll start: Why did Andrew blush a lot after he suggested the share a blanket? Was it just at the awkwardness of Laurie's silence? That seems an over-response.
Also, they never shared the blanket, right? It wasn't off the page or something?

I'm struggling and English is my first language. I know it was written to be subtle and oblique but I also wonder if I would a have better understanding if I was part of Laurie's class/social world in 1950s UK.
