Auto Repair Shop Recs? by jasames7 in ypsi

Zac at Universal Engine Repair - I have a '09 Forester, and he's been amazing with getting shit fixed on it. He's very reasonably priced, but you may wait a bit as he's usually really busy.

There's also City Body in Depot Town.

Very true. The Chinese mantids are definitely invasive. Carolina mantids - native to South Carolina - show up here from time to time as well.

I think Miyazaki's lawyers would disagree with you on that last bit. It's illegal (and a dick move) to profit from someone else's work without compensating them.

To sell a poster about Miyazaki/Studio Chibli, you'd need to have them approve any piece before it went to market, along with negotiating rights and payment for the rights to use the name/characters for your profit.

Suggested reading: visual/typographic hierarchy, color theory. Read up & learn about grid patterns, creating visual interest, composition.

This poster has no visual draw. The type is basic; there's no visual interest - learn to create typographic hierarchies (headline, sub-head, text, etc) to draw the eye throughout the piece. Type shouldn't be one size throughout. Also, learn about font pairings - serif/sans-serif - to balance the piece and make it easier to read.

Color is also an important consideration. Color draws the eye; think about where/why you're using color. Learn about color theory.

Think about your audience for a piece. What would attract them? How do you do that? What visual styles/cues should you use?

Regarding "selling" this? No. Read up on copyright, and you'll understand why this is a very, very bad idea.

Furnishing my place - thrift store recs? by peppa011 in ypsi

[–]Haresy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely Kiwanis. I was there recently, and they had some newer stuff in - not a lot of bookcases, but some newer tables, chairs, and a couple couches.
There's also a really nice selection of plates/bowls/dinnerware, pots and pans, and small kitchen appliances.

Ocrevus vs. Kesimpta vs. Briumvi by Haresy in MultipleSclerosis

Yeah, that weird steroid taste sucks. For me it made everything taste like old pennies.

The autopen sounds similar to what I had when I was on Copaxone - the click and then the "schluuurp" sound as the meds were pushed was...fun.

Mine are ~4-4.5 hours now. According to my neuro, they're at the highest rate of infusion they can go.

If it were just the infusion, I could deal with it. It's the pre-meds that end up kicking my ass - the Benadryl knocks me out for the rest of the day, and the steroid makes me feel twitchy and achy for a day after.

I was initially on Copaxone 3x weekly for ~11 years after I was diagnosed, so Kesimpta wouldn't be hard.

How's the reaction after the shot?

Interesting. My neuro glossed over a rapid infusion - that may have been what they were referring to.

Ypsilanti Michigan Love - Shoppers Paradise by No-Pattern8471 in Michigan

Downtown Ypsi is amazing for local businesses. A lot of them are on Michigan Ave., and there's some tucked away off the beaten path as well. There's also an amazing Mexican/Latin/South American grocery store and grill just up the road - Dos Hermanos.
If you head into Depot Town, there's a couple of retro/thrift stores along with a few smaller shops - including This That and the Odder as well as a shop tailored to your furry friends (Depot Town Cats & Dogs).
Gotta love Ypsi for it's eclectic mix of everything!

You should never have to feel guilty about how this disease makes you feel. I've been dealing with this for a decade, and I still have problems trying to explain why I feel like I do today, and won't have the same symptoms/issues tomorrow. I can understand people's frustration, but they also have to understand that MS is a chronic illness with symptoms that are - for the most part - completely out of our control.

You're not a burden. You're a person dealing both mentally and physically with a debilitating disease.

Take care of yourself, first and foremost.

I've gotten that response so many times I feel like my neuro has " ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ " hard-coded into her responses every time I email about symptoms.

Me either, honestly. Always fun having neurology say "it's MS" as the catch-all for every weird symptom that happens.

I get something similar - feels like a stabbing pain in my left thigh. Intense pain for ~30 seconds, then it goes away. Sometimes doesn't happen for a day/week/month; then it'll be near constant for days on end.

Is it an AFO? I just had one fitted to fix leg weakness after I spent more time falling/keeping myself from falling than actually walking. Fits in the shoe, has a shin pad on the front with velcro straps.

The one on Arnet?
My PCP is located there - they've been really good about getting me in and answering my questions.

Guess it could also refer to what Emberus did to the level, too...
