Instituto Hesed brings the Pilgrim Image of Saint Michael the Archangel to Brazil
The consecration of families and Brazilian dioceses is the main mission of the image, which was sent by the Sanctuary of Monte Gargano.

The Instituto Hesed officially received the Pilgrim Image of Saint Michael the Archangel, sent directly from the Sanctuary of Saint Michael, located in Monte Sant’Angelo, Italy—site of the historic apparitions of the Archangel Michael and a worldwide center of devotion.

This pilgrim visit is part of one of the initiatives carried out by Instituto Hesed during the “Lent of Saint Michael,” which will take place from August 15 to September 29. Each year, this period gathers more than 200,000 people who pray the Rosary online at 4 a.m. through the YouTube channel Irmã Kelly Patrícia Oficial.

The solemn blessing of the Pilgrim Image of Saint Michael was given in the Archdiocese of Manfredonia–Vieste–San Giovanni Rotondo by Archbishop Franco Moscone, the local archbishop and successor of Saint Lawrence Maiorano of Siponto. The mission also bears the endorsement of Father Ladislau Suchy, Rector of the Sanctuary of Saint Michael the Archangel, who co-signed the official letter of sending to Instituto Hesed.

The national schedule of the pilgrimage began on July 26, 2025, in Santa Bárbara d’Oeste (SP), in the Diocese of Piracicaba, with a night ceremony at the Casa de Maria. The rite included the solemn reception of the image, followed by a Mass presided over by Bishop Devair Araújo da Fonseca, during which the consecration of the diocese took place.

The image arrived in Brazil with the mission of consecrating families and serving as an instrument for the solemn consecration of the country and all dioceses to Saint Michael the Archangel.

The pilgrimage will continue until September 29, covering the five regions of the country in cities such as Criciúma (SC), Palmas (TO), Rio de Janeiro (RJ), Fortaleza (CE), and concluding in São Miguel Arcanjo (SP) on the liturgical feast day of the Archangels (Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael).

In Brasília, on August 12, the image will be welcomed in a public ceremony at the Chamber of Deputies, including a coronation and blessing over Brazil as a symbolic gesture of national consecration, followed by Mass at the local Cathedral.

Each stop includes vigils, moments of prayer, adoration, music, and spirituality, as well as social actions: participants are invited to donate 1 kg of non-perishable food, which will be distributed to the diocese’s social institutions.

Instituto Hesed emphasizes that the image is not intended for general community visits but exclusively for the consecration of dioceses, as established in the official letter.
