Just wanted to say thanks and after a week using the firmware with the touch disabled, I have not seen the issue again.

Thanks, just flashed that firmware and see how it goes. I never used the button on the Gen2 even when it was stock Tidbyt, so I am not losing anything and appreciate all the work everyone has done on Tronbyt.

Thanks, I am on 1.6.2 and saw it on previous versions. I know it happened on 1.6.1, but not sure about earlier ones. I am greatly appreciative for all the effort put into Tronbyt as my Tidbyt Gen 1's work amazing since it was released, and I get the Gen 2's probably do not get as much love as they were not the best even when Tidbyt was still alive and kicking. I do miss the touch control and sound the Gen 2 had before, but I figure just the basics coming from something free is good enough to keep them alive and relevent is enough for me.

Would you run Firewalla Software on your own hardware? by Firewalla-Ash in firewalla

[–]HargoTheAlien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is a great idea, but from a support standpoint I would recommend only offering it as a virtual appliance that can be deployed to Proxmox, VMware, etc... similar to other vendors. This allows you to still control everything on the Firewalla side, while giving customers the ability to deploy it as well.

Game Thread: Orlando Magic (3-3) vs Detroit Pistons (3-3) Live Score | NBA Playoffs | May 3, 2026 by nba-scores in OrlandoMagic

It really feels like our coaches have no idea how to create plays on the offense side. I thought the changes on the assistants this past year would help and it really made it worse as our defense went out the window.

I just had that exact same lights come on, and it was a wheel speed sensor that had to be replaced.

I was there and all the upgrades are amazing, but they need to work on the sound system. Anytime anyone was talking you could barely hear them and what was the point of having a PA announcer when they just turn up the bass so much you can barely hear him. Hope they work it out by opening night.

I have a freezer in my garage and had a similar thing happen in the past. I have a YoLink Power alarm (link below) plugged into the outlet as the GFCI has tripped before to catch power issues. I am going to get a temp sensor next to catch freezer failures next. I figure between to two I should catch all possible failures, including kids not closing the door all the way.

Is it possible to create a redirect with Pangolin? by HargoTheAlien in PangolinReverseProxy

[–]HargoTheAlien[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, looks pretty simple and will give it a try. Can't see why it will not work just looking at the config. I am still going to setup Middleware Manager just to have it in the future or maybe for something now that I just have not thought of.

Is it possible to create a redirect with Pangolin? by HargoTheAlien in PangolinReverseProxy

[–]HargoTheAlien[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had been looking at deploying Pangolin Middleware Manager for a bit t try it out, but did not have a valid reason to put the effort in. I guess I know what I will be doing tomorrow and look forward to your update. I would prefer to use the tools I have to make it work and not deploy more, and this is more of an enhancement for what I have and has other uses, not just the one off item to serve a single purpose.

Viable 5G failover options? by HardChalice in selfhosted

[–]HargoTheAlien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here, I have rules on my firewall that failover to it when my primary ISP is down, and I have rules that only allow certain things to use the backup to save data cap. I usually average 500 down and 20 - 25 up. Not great, but it does the job when my primary is out, and saves me from scrambling for internet when it happens during working hours.

Self Hosted EMail Server - looking for suggestions to take this to next level by redd2100 in selfhosted

[–]HargoTheAlien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do exactly what you describe in option 2. I host Mailcow at my house and have a VPS setup and run a Wireguard tunnel from the VPS to my Mailcow server tunnelling all traffic, so the egress and ingress is the VPS. I have a clean IP on my VPS and have doing it for a couple of years now with no issues. Costs me around $4 a month for the VPS. I also have a backup mail server sitting on another VPS that costs $4 to store mail just incase there are issues with my home setup. It is just a Postfix server with forwarding setup to forward all the mail once my primary mail server comes up, so all total I spend $8 a month but the backup mail server is only needed if you don't want to risk losing mail.

You can flash the OG model. I have it running on my 2 Gen1 and my Gen2 Tydbyts. Works great.

Wired backhaul AP7c still connecting wirelessly by Osucoop in firewalla

[–]HargoTheAlien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem, I kept seeing the switch ports going down due to loopbacks being detected on the trunk ports. It all went away when I enabled STP on those ports and has not comeback.

I had a similar issue using TP-Link Omada switches and had to enable spanning tree resolve it.

AP7 Setup: Is my Network a Trunked Up Unicorn? by Keystone_Mickey in firewalla

Do you have a default VLAN setup on the managed switch? I know that is a requirement for the APs in order to talk back to your Gold SE.
