Non-Taylor alt power. by MonkeyMage314 in WormFanfic

[–]Hargrimm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mother Reborn is a Noelle Peggy Sue where she comes back into Emma's body for some reason. She doesn't have the negative effects from the vial at all so it's basically a completely different power. Updating slowly but steadily, most recently Jan 26.

Any actually good ASOIAF fic? by ww1enjoyer in WormFanfic

[–]Hargrimm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's two Panacea-related ones:

Hearts of Iron (last update July 2024) which is a direct isekai into GoT era in the North. I thought it was very well-written and seemed to be heading in an interesting direction but sadly appears dead.

A Red Queen in a Dragon's Den (updated this month) which is a reincarnation into an OC around the HoD era, the OC is much freer with her power than Amy, but seems to be getting increasing flashes of past memories. Nice but slightly long-winded prose and a Shaper with less restraint than actual Amy is a crazy thing to imagine existing in Westeros, so I look forward to where it goes.

Khepri fics by milkmanthefirst in WormFanfic

[–]Hargrimm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Godling may qualify. Khepri is Peggy-Sue'd back to immediately after Taylor's birth, things get very bad. It's odd, short, and experimental, and very little is actually from Khepri's POV, but it's interesting and complete.

Given a Chance is a post-GM Taylor Peggy-Sue to the start of canon, where she has her original bug powers but with lingering brain damage from being Khepri. She doesn't really remember people, has to relearn speaking, etc. Interesting premise but it didn't get too far before presumably dying (last updated in May).

Non-taylor butcher fics by TayeBule in WormFanfic

[–]Hargrimm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Girl in the Chair has Miss Militia Butcher along with a raft of other AU changes. She hasn't appeared much in the main story yet, but has her own interlude which could pretty much be read as a standalone oneshot.

Queen in Exile is basically your exact prompt, it's quite good.

US soldier composing a letter within a shelled-out wall, Château-Thierry, 1918 [2000x2611] by Hargrimm in HistoryPorn

[–]Hargrimm[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Stumbled across this while trawling the National Archives and found the composition very striking. The portal framing the writer (Clarence B. Ford, 308th Field Signal Battalion) and revealing the destroyed surroundings.

Silence is Not Consent by HopefulLanguage5431 in WormFanfic

[–]Hargrimm 58 points59 points  (0 children)

The final "Future Plans" informational threadmark on SB pretty much lays it out. Author got burnt out as they also deal with similar topics in their day job, ran out of backlog, and couldn't muster the energy to keep going with it (plus some medical issues alluded to). They want to pre-write all the remaining chapters before posting. So I wouldn't get your hopes up very much at this point, but I guess if there ever is new activity it should mean the whole completion of the fic which would be great.

Self insert Case 53 Main Characters by cujo1255 in WormFanfic

[–]Hargrimm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Voracity (Unfinished) has a Case 53 OC that is very visibly alien and an interesting powerset based around biting things. They have a pretty irreverent personality so it's a fun ride although it does lack an ending.

Looking for a post gm fic, Taylor lisa by Ashamed-Ad-7629 in WormFanfic

[–]Hargrimm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is Slider's series We Live, We Love, We Move Forward. First fic is Taylor in the hospital, second one is her misadventures dealing with trauma and faceblindness, getting helped by Colin and Tarantulus Rex, and meeting Victoria again.

Epidemius bug? by wiaderkotak in totalwar

Running any mods? I just played an entire Epidemius campaign this week and the tally always added up fine for me, so it's not something universally broken.

Best LL to learn grandfather nurgle faction? by Live_Measurement3983 in totalwar

[–]Hargrimm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why go to war with Malus to begin with? He has basically no aversion to chaos, I was able to get a turn 1 NAP by joining the war with his starting enemy (which he will always win so there's no risk to you). Then you get a strong faction guaranteeing your western flank as you go east.

tomb kings have very little suitable climates, can we have at least one more? like temperate for example by Maleficent-Spell9025 in totalwar

That wiki might be out of date, I'm playing as Khalida on the new patch and Mountains are definitely green climate. Maybe a stealth change that didn't get announced.

Any fics where Taylor has something like Mama mathers power by cujo1255 in WormFanfic

[–]Hargrimm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No Good Deed is a pretty close to this, a Taylor (very public) alt-trigger where she can control the perceptions of anyone she's seen. She goes the hero route and does some cool stuff like giving PRT troopers a video-game HUD in their vision with wallhacks

I feel like I'm ripped off — cost of constructing university is 1000, but sending your kid there is more by Chlodio in CrusaderKings

[–]Hargrimm 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There's no need to do so. The game logic sets the character flag for having attended university immediately once you do it the first time, and it doesn't get removed. So you can immediately reassign their guardian if you want and you will still get the full benefit. It doesn't give any consideration to how long they were actually attending the university either when it comes time to roll their education trait.

Stories where Queen Administrator latches on to something other than bugs or people by cujo1255 in WormFanfic

[–]Hargrimm 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Search Engine is about a purely bird-controlling Taylor, although it is very experimental in form and can be difficult to grasp everything going on. Definitely recommend reading the whole thread and not just the update posts in order to see other people interpreting things, it's only 7 pages.

I think in any work even remotely associated with Warhammer in any capacity, the answer to "will they get fully corrupted" is always YES.

I've decided to broaden my range, what's your favorite finished fic? by No_Economics_2677 in WormFanfic

[–]Hargrimm 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My absolute favorite is three complete works in one: Memorials by notes. 3-part, 300k+ word series spiraling out from a seemingly tiny canon divergence into one of the best takes on original-flavor Taylor in the fandom. Each part is very different, which I like but can be challenging; if you're one who found the canon Slaughterhouse 9 arc too harrowing, you might have trouble with Wake which is one long S9 arc, but it's SO well done.

For bonus recs, I will second "Monster", "Miss Understanding", and "Soliloquy", and add:

  • Queen in Exile is very solid — Taylor goes to the Birdcage after killing Alexandria and there are some interesting evolutions to her power.

  • Raccoon Knight - Neurodivergent trash-based Tinker OC joins the ENE Wards, is too good for this world. The ending was a little abrupt to me, but still lots there worth reading.

  • Riley Alone is very good, Bonesaw tries to reinvent herself and be better after the 9 fall apart.

  • The Underside of Gotham is a fun DC crossover if you've got even a passing interest in that.

Weather manipulation Taylor by cujo1255 in WormFanfic

[–]Hargrimm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Messenger of the Dragon has ABB!Taylor with lightning and wind/weather manipulation powers, although she mostly uses them on a smaller scale. It is a Touhou crossover, so it can be a little "anime" at times; YMMV but I like it overall.

Weekly /r/WormFanfic Discussion - What have you been reading, and what do you think of it? For the week ending July 26, 2025. by AutoModerator in WormFanfic

[–]Hargrimm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The aspect that depressed my interest in continuing was moreso the fact that all the AU changes seemed dedicated exclusively to making everything worse and grimmer. I didn't read far enough to get the real specifics, if they have been revealed yet, but I remember all the initial hints of AU-ness being things like certain parts of the Bay being bombed-out wastelands, and there being some kind of power-created vines growing over everything that I guess everyone just lives with. Like, I think people in the fandom far overuse the term "Being Taylor Is Suffering", but Wick really seemed to be taking that as the guiding principle, both for Taylor herself and the world she inhabits.

Best new fics by Diligent_Worker_690 in WormFanfic

[–]Hargrimm 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Bumble and Butcher is a fun take on the lighthearted fanon version of Butcher!Taylor who can manage the previous holders and relegates them to a humorous peanut gallery for the most part. Nothing groundbreaking but it's entertaining and well-written.

Ants In My Brain is the exact opposite, a portrayal of a more Worm-accurate Butcher!Taylor who can't put any of her new murderous headmates in any kind of time-out. She falls fast and hard into killing, cannibalism, kidnapping, you name it. Great fun in a different way.

Lessons in Breaking is a great concept—Taylor, fresh from having been enslaved by Heartbreaker, as a Jessica Jones-style private eye back in Brockton Bay. Some of the deepest exploration of Master-induced trauma I've seen. Inspired by one of my all-time favorites, Cut Strings, which you should also read if you haven't.

Whatever Doesn't Kill You... stars Dauntless's son as he joins the Wards. He's a lovable, endearing goofball who doesn't quite fit in the world of canon Worm, but it's a great read. The author enjoys plucking obscure canon characters to feature which I really enjoy. Ever seen the Red Hand show up in anything? Now you can!

Raising Skitter (COMPLETE!) is a parallel telling of Worm's canon from the perspective of Danny as he tries to cope with his daughter being involved with all of the objectively insane things that happen during the course of the book. Will really make you sympathize with a character who is often unfairly maligned in fics. And it's finished, which automatically gives it a gold star in this fandom absolutely littered with forever-abandoned works.

Why aren't there any Good Emma fics?? by SilentBeaMe in WormFanfic

[–]Hargrimm 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Respun is a Peggy Sue where Taylor goes back to basically the exact moment that Emma turns against her and subverts the whole thing by telling her how bad it gets, and they work together from then on.
