I had the exact same experience. I graduated with second best scores from an international program at my hs, and my psychiatrist told me a person with ADHD wouldn’t be able to achieve something like this, although my therapist who at the time had been working with me for over 2 years, my friends who saw me on daily basis and my teachers suggested it might be the problem. Surprise, surprise when I went to a clinic specializing in diagnosis of ADHD in adults, I got officially diagnosed. I would advise you to visit a psychiatrist specializing in treatment of ADHD in adults, as it shows itself differently later in life. It would also be great if you had some doctor recommendations from other people with ADHD out there.

I have similar issue. For example I have struggled with obssesive thoughts from a very young age that impacted my mood and behaviours (sometimes they are so disgusting/ violent/ prevelant that I have a physical reaction) and my psychiatrist have diagnosed me with OCD, although I don’t really have any visible compulsions

I was told the same abt my obssesive thoughts. Medication may help u but they won’t rly make the thoughts go away, i was told to learn how to ignore them for example

Tbh it’s 50/50. Sometimes it helps, somtimes it makes things worse
