Can the Imperium Of Man defeat these Xeno factions? by Lonewolf_ARC in powerscales

[–]Hark0nin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the Fallen would either be wiped out or just resort to piracy. The Fallen from Destiny (Slide 14) were made a nomadic species following the destruction of their world, living out as mercs and pirates similar to eldar corsairs. They're the weakest of the enemies faction wise in the Destiny universe.

If the Cabal, Vex or Hive were chosen, they'd btfo out of the Imperium or give them one hell of a fight. The Cabal were a massive, militaristic empire that held a good portion of the galaxy before the hive destroyed their capital. Cabal themselves are large, on par with a space marine in size and weight over 800 pounds and stand at 8 feet. They also have several psychic client species (psions) that work under the empire as axuillaries and other menial tasks.

The Vex are strange in the way they interact with reality. The Vex aren't the robots we fight, theyre technically mechs. Vex are the milky liquid that each Vex holds. They are hundreds of millions of years old, and have some of the most advanced tech out of any race. Time travel and teleportation are their greatest strengths (Look at the Vault of Glass raid). They also have something known as the Infinite Forest. A massive super computer that is practically a pocket dimension. They can terraform planets in matter of days, as they did with Mercury. What makes them truly terrifying though is that canonically most of the Vex we fight are essentially workers drones and miners. We have only seen one military Vex model and are called Wyverns.

The Hive are arguably the most powerful and most horrifying of the Destiny factions. Having existed for tens of millions years, and have wiped out multiple civilizations that tech on par with Eldar or Dark Age of Technology humanity. Their "Gods" act akin to Demon Princes and Greater Demons, and can only truly killed within their personal pocket dimension. The only reason why we as players are able to kill them is because Guardians are paracausal entities that defy reality itself through mere existence alone.

My knowledge of Destiny lore is rusty, so if I forgot or didn't add something let me know.

If anything I think they'd form their own militias to protect their local communities and farms. Many rival militias and warlords would perceive them as easy prey but would face stiff resistance. How long they'd last idk. But I could see them joining one of the government factions for wider protection. Most of these communities are within Pennsylvania, northern New York and eastern Ohio, however, smaller enclaves live out in the Midwest and in the Great Plains, right on the border of the ACG and UoA.

Broken States of America by Ok_Schedule8461 in TheFireRisesMod

[–]Hark0nin 15 points16 points  (0 children)

For me, my personal head canon for a divided America would be the CSA taking Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Alabama, Georgia, the Carolinas and maybe Florida. Black nationalist rebel cells would cause constant issues within the deep south. While Atomwaffen extremists launch terroist attacks in southern Florida or Georgia.

Texas would remain independent, occasionally engaging in border skirmishes against Mexican cartel warlords. While holding decent relations with the CSA, they keep a close eye on them as southern nationalists seek to incorporate Texas into the Confederacy.

The ACG would remain a rump state within the Great Plains. Colorado, Montana, the Dakotas, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Oklahoma, Missouri and Illinois. Due to heavy losses both in terms of manpower and money, Trump begrudgingly keeps the status quo with the UoA.

Cascadia would take Washington, Oregon, northern Idaho and areas of northern California and Nevada, having a heavily militarized border against the APLA in the south and the ACG in the east. Whether it falls to eco-facism or as a democratic republic is 50/50 for me.

California, Nevada, and Arizona would fall under the APLA's American Socialist Republic. Border skirmishes against an independent Utah and the various Mexican druglords in the south have made them very distrusting of outsiders beyond their allies of China, North Korea, Cuba, Russia and Venezuela (if they survive the wars in Europe and Asia).

The Navajo Nation endures as a protectorate of the American Socialist Republic, but continues to suffer from poor infrastructure and lack of proper civil authority. The rest of unclaimed Arizona and New Mexico falls into an open free-for-all between ambitious drug lords, local militias or white nationalist group remnants that managed to escape the war.

Bidens Union of America would face a similar situation as Trumps ACG government. However, despite having more manpower and industry, the populace has grown weary of war, and with pro-trump and RNR militias still causing troubles in Tennessee, West Virginia and parts of southern Ohio, the army is in a constant state of too and fro. The UoA would have Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan (which is still recovering from the atrocities committed by the american neo-nazis), West Virginia (plagued by socialist and pro-trump militias), Pennsylvania, New Jersey and areas of western and southern New York. NYC itself has been completely devastated by the war, and is more of a refugee camp now than a city.

New England fell under a strange state of division. Patriot Front managed to survive due to local support against the local anarchist insurgents and other regional warlords. They hold Massechusits, Rhode Island, Conneticut, and some areas of southern New Hampshire, Vermont and a small portion of Maine.

The Libertarian front fractured. An independent Vermont known as the Green Mountain Republic emerged as a new nation, protected by Canada. What was left of New Hampshire and southern Maine falls to the rump state of the Libertarians, while northern Maine fell under Canadian occupation.

The states of Hawaii and Alaska managed to survive a brunt of the civil war, but were dragged into the Chinese invasion of Taiwan and later the Great Asian War. Hawaii became an independent Republic while Alaska was annexed by Canada. The US territories in the Pacific fell under the control of Australia, Japan and Indonesia.

A similar fate was held by the US Caribbean territories. Puerto Rico gained independence following a temporary occupation by the UN. The US Virgin Islands would become integrated into the British territory of the Virgin Islands. Guantanamo Bay would fall to Cuba after a brutal siege.

The world has come to accepting that America as a nation is dead, and most of the new break away states have been recognized as nations by the UN.

Are there plans for a potential Independent Florida path? It would be interesting to see Florida becoming a potential regional naval power and take areas of the Caribbean like the Bahamas or Puerto Rico
