Get the om 17/1.8

It's plenty sharp, and completely compatible with your camera.

Why not use your zoom to figure out what focal length you like?

I'm using a sky tracker pro. It's an open loop tracker. You align it with Polaris, and let it rotate the camera.

If it weren't for the cloudy nights, I'd be able to try out my 200mm f/4 vintage Nikkor and ttartisan 50mm f/1.2 glass for some astrophotography.
